The healthcare reform is a good thing for nurses. For starters, the bill provides money for both advanced practice and general nurse education. One of the most exciting things for nurses, though, is the interest in demonstration models. The law creates a grant program for innovative safety net programs, one of which is nurse-managed health clinics.

Nurse practitioner programs are going strong. Now, the money will be there to support these nurse-managed clinics, where before the NPs had to jump through hoops to get private funding and do all sorts of maneuvers in order to stay afloat. Now that they can access real money and are able to provide care, they will start showing the outcomes .

The law will allow for different approaches to how we deliver primary care, by whom and where, and with fewer physicians going into primary care, there really is no other way to meet the need than through primary care NPs and nurse midwives .

There are some important initiatives in the PPACA that have to do with improving quality in hospitals, such as building capacity for trauma care and building capacity for prevention, wellness, and disaster preparedness. It will require more and better trained nurses. Safety and quality are foremost on everyone’s minds and the nurses to be more involved in assuring a safe and high quality environment in all hospitals across this country

Nursing is well prepared to see the healthcare system change its emphasis. Nursing has always been about prevention and wellness. We are also good at chronic care management, school health, transitional care and home visiting… all areas of emphasis in the new law

Police-Community Relations vs. Community-Oriented Policing

In reviewing the text, thoroughly explain the differences between community-oriented policing and police-community relations. How do police-community relations interact or associate with community-oriented policing? How did the philosophical or theoretical changes happen over time?

The public era of cooperation with the community went through some changes during the 1930’s to the 1960’s.  Police departments became more isolated from the public and were not as involved in the community.  They would respond to criminal activity but they did not intermingle with the public  (Oliver, 2008).  From 1960 to 1985 police departments created the police community relations which meant that the departments would still respond to criminal activity as usual but now they would have more in depth contact with the public  (Oliver, 2008).

After the mid 80’s police community relations began to change to what is now community oriented policing.  This is where the programs adopted by the department are then intermingled with the public.  An example would be to host a crime prevention fair or carnival.  This would allow for the community to see the policeman in a different view than just driving around in a squad car.  Programs such as these would grow the participation of the community; build trust from the community towards the officers and the department.  It would also take the fear of crime out of the citizen’s lives, as they police became an actual member of their community.

The changes in philosophy happened over time as the conditions of the communities changed.  Departments recognized that they were more effective when they were accepted within the community rather than just being located in the community.  The benefits of winning over the public and actually becoming part of their lives in the community would render many benefits.  This would allow for better communities to live in, more effective police departments and an all around better place to live.

Technical Writing, English homework help

For this lesson’s assignment, you will need to:

  • Identify a complex problem in your workplace or community.
  • Consider potential solutions for the problem.
  • Analyze the rhetorical situation.
  • Brainstorm and organize a recommendation letter to the stakeholders.
  1. Brainstorming Your first assignment is to brainstorm various solutions to the community or work problem that you selected. Your brainstorming should be comprehensive and complete. Address possible solutions, affected people, what might happen if the problem is not solved, and potential consequences of your solution. Make sure you explore these issues at the deepest possible level and that you avoid generalizations and oversimplifications of the problem and its solutions. You will submit one document containing all of your ideas. You can scan in a mind map if you would like.
  2. Analyzing the Rhetorical Situation . Your second assignment is to analyze the rhetorical situation. Describe the audience for your letter, the context in which the problem exists, and the receptivity of the audience.Analysis is at least 150 words long.
  3. Planning the Letter . Your third assignment is to explain how you will organize your ideas and structure your letter to present your proposal based on the rhetorical situation. Submission is at least 150 words long.

Need help to write and Essay that is double spaced, 3pgs, 12 font and using either Thomas Hobbes or John Locke point of view

Using either Thomas Hobbes or John Locke point of view (ideas, beliefs etc), evaluate a contemporary policy or institution from any country in the world.  Is it just?  Why or why not?  How could we change it to make it more just?

Nuts and Bolts:

•
Your essay s
hould be 3
pages in length, double-spaced, 12pt Times New Roman font, with standard margins.
.  Please submit your paper on the course blackboard site.

•
Clearly display which question you are answering on the title page of your paper.

Tips for Writing a Good Paper:

Outline your answer before you begin writing.  If you don’t know how you’re going to answer the question, don’t start writing yet.

Don’t make large, windy introductory statements (eg. “the question of democracy has been debated for millennia”).  Start by immediately and clearly asserting your thesis.

Your paper should start with a thesis and then lead me through your reasoning in a clear, logical manner so as to convince me that you’re right.

Structure your paper according to the outline you’ve written.  One good way to structure your paper is to think of two or three reasons why you’re right and then devote one paragraph to each reason.

Be sure you cite from the text in order to support your points, and be sure that you explain the quotations you pull from the text.

A great paper will conclude not by summarizing the paper, but by indicating the wider significance of the claim you’re defending.

➢
I am mainly looking for a clear, well-argued paper that closely analyzes and assesses the text.  If you find yo
urself straying from the
text and/or not citing the text at all, delete the paragraph and start over.

Journal Three

Complete Profile Brainstorming

Brainstorming, Topic and Interview Questions

Use the brainstorming activities outlined on pages 116-120 to generate a topic for your profile. Ideally, I’d like you to post your work directly to your journal. But if you prefer to brainstorm in a notebook, then after each brainstorming exercise, post a 50-100 word reflection on what you generated. Let me know what most surprised you, what was difficult, what ideas you liked best/least.

Once you’ve identified your subject, immediately set up an interview with that person. You will also need to identify whether you want to shadow your subject for awhile — observe as well as ask questions. Finally, decide if there is anyone else you might want to interview — someone who knows the person about whom you’re writing and might offer additional insight.

Finally, generate your interview questions, and post those on your journal as well.

Cooperation in Building Safer Communities

Briefly describe the four steps towards developing safer communities that police labor and management can take together. Identify and describe two or three difficulties that can be anticipated during implementation of this four-step process. How would you suggest enacting this process in a fiscally restrictive environment?

Week 5 Discussion 2

Tyler:

Developing safer communities is a concern every community leader should have. Sadly this is not the case more often than not the political leader say they care, however actions speak louder than words. The police management differs in their opinion on safe communities when compared to the rank and file of a department; so how is a safer community created. Fortunately there is a process in place for this. The process consists of four steps. The first step is to poll the public; with this the law enforcement is seeking direct feedback from their community.  For the next step the opinions of the officers in the departments are polled.  “The poll should seek to determine what the officer’s think about the effectiveness and efficiency of the department; How would the officers allocate resources and personnel if they had the power” (DeLord, R., & Sanders, J. 2006). The third step in this process is to conduct on audit on the department, here is when an outside agency audits the performance on the department to locate problem within the agency. The last step in this process is the have the labor and management build a coalition in support of a shared vision. This is necessary for success; if the both sides cannot agree on the vision this entire process will fail.

One challenge I can predict is the unwillingness of officers to participate in the process. I would fear as a union leader that I would not receive the honest feedback form member necessary. Another issue I can see is police officers resenting the audit. I fell this would built an extra amount of tension for the department, and if implemented poorly would further strain the relationship between labor and management.

Group Decision Making SLP, writing homework help

One of the biggest complaints among managers is the huge amount of time they have to spend in meetings. Ideally the purpose of meetings is to put everyone’s heads together to solve a problem or make a decision. But far too often they can lead to unproductive, time-wasting conversations and even conflict.

For this assignment, think about some recent meetings you’ve attended where a significant decision had to be made. Think carefully about how some of the problems regarding group decision making that were discussed in the background readings apply to what you’ve experienced. Then write a 2- to 3-page paper addressing the following issues:

  1. Are all voices equally heard, or are some people afraid to speak up? Are participants in the meeting afraid to contradict senior management?
  2. Is time spent at the meetings productive, or is a lot of time wasted?
  3. Are the decisions that are made solid ones? Or do they suffer from problems mentioned in the background materials such as groupthink?
  4. Are ideas expressed at meetings creative and original, or are original ideas discouraged?
  5. Based on what you’ve described in Questions 1–4 above, what kind of group decision-making process would you recommend be used in meetings you attend? Base your answer on readings from the background materials such as Rao (2009), Bolland and Fletcher (2012), and Sims (2002).

week 2 dis1, Core Principles & Values of Effective Team-Based Health Care, writing homework help

In the assigned article, “Core Principles & Values of Effective Team-Based Health Care”(https://www.nationalahec.org/pdfs/VSRT-Team-Based-Care-Principles-Valures.pdf) the authors state that “the incorporation of multiple perspectives in health care offers the benefit of diverse knowledge and experience; however, in practice, shared responsibility without high-quality teamwork can be fraught with peril.” Describe the perils that the authors say lead to uncoordinated care and unnecessary waste and cost. How do communication and interdisciplinary collaboration prevent adverse events?

Foundations of Mythology

Write a 600- to 875-word paper, in which you answer the following questions:

  • How is the word myth used popularly? For example, what does the statement, “It’s a myth” mean? In contrast, how is the word myth used in the academic context? After considering the definition in your textbooks and course materials, write a definition in your own words.
  • What are the most common mythological themes across different cultures? Why do myths from different cultures around the world address such similar or universal themes? Do we see these same themes in today’s myths? Think about how myths explain the unknown and the tribulations of mankind.

Format your citations and references according to the appropriate course level APA guidelines.

Final Research Project

The topic of your project needs to be a contemporary societal problem, such as healthcare reform, immigration reform, privacy rights, euthanasia, First Amendment Rights, stem cell research, capital punishment, corporate prisons, legalizing drugs, ageism, animal rights, cloning, prayer in schools, racial profiling, recycling/conservation, sexism, outsourcing jobs, workplace bullying, etc. The topic must focus on a single aspect, as in “How far do corporations intrude into the private lives of their employers?” or “The social costs of financing the distribution of custom-designed drugs.” You may suggest another topic to use, but the instructor must approve the topic during the Week Two Discussion.

The Final Research Project will present research relating the responsibilities of a critical thinker to contemporary society. In this assignment, you will do the following:

  • Research one aspect of a contemporary social problem.
  • Define the problem.
  • Propose a possible solution for the problem.
  • Create an argument that supports your thesis position. You should take on the perspective of a critically thinking researcher. The argument must present a thesis statement and evidence to support the thesis statement.
  • Evaluate the ethical outcomes that result from the position you take on the issue and explain how those outcomes would influence society and culture.
  • Interpret statistical data from at least two peer-reviewed scholarly sources.
  • Evaluate evidence using the following standards: validity, reliability, and bias related to the chosen topic and accurately identify strengths and weaknesses.

Research and Define the Problem
You must take on the perspective of your major field of study and explain in your paper what that perspective is and how it informs your view of the topic. The topics listed above are far too broad to write about in 10–12 pages (3,300–3,900 words). Instead, you must choose a narrowly defined thesis and approach it from the perspective of your field.

Example: If you are an economics major, and you are interested in immigration reform, you should approach a very specific aspect of immigration reform through the lens of economic theory and practice. A specific thesis question would not be, “How does illegal immigration influence the U.S. economy?” One could write thousands of pages on such a topic. Instead, a better question would be, “How do illegal immigrant hotel workers in Chicago impact the economy of Northern Illinois?” You would then want to do the research and determine the positive and negative impacts they have, ultimately trying to conclude how illegal immigration in this area should be approached ethically.

How to Hone Your Thesis: It is important that you start your research early in this course. Try to find the most important contemporary questions and theories in your field of study and then align the most important questions with a very specific aspect of the general topics above. For example, if you are a psychology major, you might want to start thinking within the realm of healthcare reform or aspects of mental health and criminality in the prison system.

Your Argument
You must present a complete argument, including a major claim with at least five points of evidence, information, or data that will prove the claim.

  • The thesis statement must be
    • A clear, simple declarative sentence as the first or last sentence in the opening paragraph of the essay.
    • Of such a nature that it can be substantiated, corroborated, verified, and proved through appeal to primary or secondary academic research source materials.
  • The introductory paragraph must
    • Present the thesis statement, an explanation for the importance of the topic, and its relation to the student’s field of study.
  • Beliefs, opinions, and personal opinions must not be introduced at any point in the essay.
  • All beliefs and opinions should be supported with academic evidence. Sweeping generalizations with no supporting academicevidence do not reflect adequate critical thinking skills.
  • Do not include rhetorical questions in your essays. All the questions that are pertinent to your project need to be answered in your essay and your answers again need to be supported with evidence from peer-reviewed journal articles and academically published books.

Attributes of Good Critical Thinking in Papers

  • Your paper should include academic sources that explain multiple sides of the issue.
  • The evidence that you use should come from high-level researchers engaged in your field of study.
  • Your interpretations of the evidence should be objective and state the conclusions and theses presented in the evidence clearly and fairly.
  • Your paper should place the various forms of evidence in relation to one another and demonstrate why one form or perspective is stronger than the other positions that one could take on the issue.
  • Your paper should point out the limitations of current evidence and attempt to indicate areas for future research.

Ethical Outcomes of the Position You Take
After you have defined the problem and created an argument about how one ought to respond to the issue, you need to explain the ethical outcomes of the position you have taken. This should again be in relation to the field of study in which you are working. There might be different ethical outcomes that result from your analysis. For example, going back to the example issue above, from an economic standpoint, illegal immigrants might contribute positively to the economy of Northern Illinois in a specific number of ways. Thus, an economist who believes that positive impact to the economy is the greatest good would say that one should promote the use of illegal immigrants. However, because these workers are often paid less than others and eliminate jobs that could be done by residents of Chicago, there could be other negative ethical outcomes that would outweigh the positive impacts to the economy. It is your goal to draw out the ethical implications of your thesis and explain the underlying rationale that is the foundation for your claim that one action is better than another.

  • Critical thinkers are those who can outline the positive and negative ethical impacts of their positions. In addition, they are able to provide a rationale for why they believe a specific position is the right position, even when it leads to negative outcomes.
  • Critical thinkers are also able to be honest and objective about the limitations and gray areas that pertain to their theses.

Final Research Project Requirements
The Final Research Project may be presented as a formal research paper (essay format), a PowerPoint presentation, a video, or a podcast equivalent to a minimum of 10 – 12 pages in APA format (approximately 3,300 – 3,900 typewritten words, excluding title page and reference pages). Written essays must adhere to all APA formatting standards and requirements, as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.

PowerPoint presentations must include the full text (at least 3,300 words) in the speaker notes portion of the slides, with appropriate citations, and full reference pages. PowerPoint presentations must adhere to the basic principles of PowerPoint presentation design and must include citations and references according to APA standards and requirements.

Videos and podcasts must include a full transcript, in APA format, including appropriate in-text citations and a references page.

Quotations:
There must be no more than 15% quoted content in the body of your essay. All quoted material must bear quotation marks and a full quotation citation.

Source Documents:

  • There must be 10 or more source documents used, cited, and referenced.
  • Multimedia sources (such as videos) may be used, but no more than two such sources may be used. If multimedia sources are used, then they must be authored and distributed by credible sources, such as universities, law schools, medical schools, or professors, or found in the Ashford University Library.
  • Where print documents are used for source materials, those must be peer-reviewed, scholarly journal articles, and academically published books. Popular media sources (e.g., newspapers, magazines, television and radio shows, etc.) may not be used. Materials from advocacy groups (e.g., Greenpeace, Human Rights Campaign, National Organization for Women, etc.) may not be used.
  • Two of the peer-reviewed scholarly sources used must include statistical evidence, which must be accurately interpreted.
  • Sites such as ProCon.org and Wikipedia should not be used.
  • Religious texts are neither peer-reviewed nor scholarly and so may not be used in any way.

Summary Conclusion:
You must have a summary conclusion as the last paragraph(s) of the project, presenting the major point of the essay and the evidence supporting that point.

Word Count:
The content body of the project must be 3,300 words or more. The word count does not include anything in the title page, running header, or reference list. It is expected that you meet all logistical requirements of this paper.

Reference List:

  • The list of references must include only those source documents that are cited within the body of the project.
  • The project must fully comply with APA formatting standards and requirements as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center: title page, running header with page numbers, font face and size, line spacing, citations, and reference page(s).

This is a good start, but it doesn’t exactly meet the requirements of the assignment. It looks more like a draft for the final paper (I hope the final paper will actually be shorter than this). Nonetheless, you included discussion of the required number of scholarly sources, the sum of your discussions or summaries were a bit too brief. (This should have been at least 150 words apiece. Otherwise, I liked it. I have attached my final paper it is a rough draft it needs to be proof read and changes made. the comment above is what my teacher gave me to change and there are changes on paper that need to be made.

Week 1 Discussion

Discussion: Envisioning Organizations and Strategic Planning

Strategic planning offers many benefits for organizations. Therefore, when creating an organization, it is important to not only consider its purpose and mission, but also the strategic plan for fulfilling that purpose. For this Discussion, you consider your vision for a non-profit or government organization and reflect on how strategic planning might benefit the organization.

By Day 3

Post a description of your vision for a non-profit or government organization. Include the organization’s mission statement. Then, explain how strategic planning might benefit this organization. Include how you might plan for the organization to have a positive impact on the future.

Can Someone Help Me Out?, writing homework help

This week you studied a variety of position papers, all of which put forth arguments in support of stronger funding of quality care and education during the early years. These arguments originate in three “worlds” usually not deeply connected with the lives of young children. They are proposed by economists, neuroscientists, and politicians.

Currently, many seasoned early childhood professionals are finding that their experience-based knowledge of children and families is supported by research within these three fields. And, overall, early childhood professionals have welcomed this research and the influx of new interest by these fields because it is beginning to translate into increased funding for programs in need of financial support, or into the creation of worthwhile new early childhood programs.

On what specific data do these voices, new to the field of early childhood, anchor their arguments? What are some of their main arguments for supporting young children and families? In what ways do they articulate their support? What is the essence of their suggestions? This assignment is an opportunity to investigate these questions.

In preparation for the Discussion,

  • Review all required resources, including the media segment and the U.S. Department of Education website.
  • For each resource, evaluate which main arguments are presented in favor of care and education policies for the early years.
  • Choose one written resource that stimulates your professional curiosity more than the others, and that you want to analyze further.
  • Using the reading you selected and the media segment, evaluate in what specific way(s) commitment to the well-being of young children, families, or early childhood professionals is expressed in each of the two resources.

By Wednesday:

Post

A brief response to each of the following questions:

  • What influenced your choice of the written resource?
  • How is respect for and commitment to the well-being of young children, families, and/or early childhood professionals expressed in the article and the media segment?
  • How has your understanding of early childhood issues and trends deepened by considering the views of economists, neuroscientists, and politicians?

Discussion: Emotional Intelligence, writing homework help

Discussion: Emotional Intelligence

The patient in 4D had been admitted for multidrug resistant pneumonia. Given her advanced age and a host of other medical problems, the outlook was dire. Over the weeks she and the night nurse had struck up something of a friendship. Other than that she had no visitors, not a soul listed to notify in case of death, and no known friends or relatives. As he dropped by on his night rounds, the nurse was her only visitor, and the visits were limited to the short conversations she could manage. Now her vital signs were failing, and the nurse recognized that the patient in 4D was near death. So he tried to spend every spare minute on his shift in her room, just being present. He was there to hold her hand during her last moments of life. How did his supervisor respond to this gesture of human kindness?
—Goleman, 2006, p. 252

How do aspects of emotional intelligence relate to leadership and management success? Does an effective leader–manager have to be emotionally sensitive and literate? Why or why not?

To Prepare

·Following the passage above, Goldman continues on to explain that the nurse supervisor reprimanded the nurse. Does this line up with what you were expecting? Why or why not?

·Based on the information in the Learning Resources, think of a recent experience in your organization and consider how a nursing administrator demonstrated or failed to demonstrate emotional intelligence. How did this impact the outcome of the situation?

·Reflect on your identified strengths and opportunities for growth related to emotional intelligence from the information in the Learning Resources. What surprises you about the concept of emotional intelligence? How would you rate your own emotional intelligence?

Post a description of a situation in which a nursing administrator demonstrated or did not demonstrate emotional intelligence when managing a situation. Explain how this may have impacted the outcome of the situation. Describe how you would handle the situation differently based on your own identified emotional intelligence strengths.

Cotton Mather, writing homework help

Please describe for me what Cotton Mather means in the following passage from The Wonders of the Invisible World. In your response, please think about how this passage fits into the American context of what Puritans believed and why they were so intent on settling and subduing this “new” land. Be as textual and specific as you can be.

“The New Englanders are a people of God settled in those, which were once the devil’s territories; and it may easily be supposed that the devil was exceedingly disturbed, when he perceived such a people accomplishing the promise of old made unto our blessed Jesus, that He should have the utmost parts of the earth for His possession.”

project work… only serious people

When George Bacchus passed away last year, at age 85, he left his family winery to his sons, Harold and Don, both in their 60s. Harold recently retired from being a locomotive engineer. Don retired from the US Army about ten years ago and has been working as a guide at the local military museum. Both were eager to take on the challenge of running the family vineyard and have already gained a renewed appreciation for all of the hard work their father invested into Bacchus Winery. Harold and Don realize the winery is doing things in an old-fashioned manner and are ready to begin exploring ways to apply some of the new technology their 40ish children have been recommending, but since neither have any interest in technology outside of that which they had encountered in their previous jobs, they need advice.

As they began their management of the business, the men decided against making many changes in personnel. Presently they employ Leia McLeod, the director of finances and payroll; Elise Tudor, director of the marketing department, and her assistant, Rob Dudley; Nate Crisp, production-line manager, and the twenty employees who report to him; and Marge Simpson, who is in charge of distribution.

Bacchus Winery grows its own grapes, apples, cherries, blackberries, and blueberries, as well as keeps some beehives for honey. Bacchus makes and bottles the wine, and then sells it, to both local restaurants and visitors to the winery. Currently, their offerings include a Merlot, a Cabernet, a Chardonnay, a mead, several seasonal fruit wines, and a muscat desert wine. They have been receiving their supplies (bottles, corks, labels, and support ingredients) from a supplier who ships the components every month or so. Harold and Don are responsible for keeping track of their inventories and would like to find a more efficient method of keeping track and ordering supplies, perhaps over the Internet (Don’s idea…Harold remains unconvinced).  Elise would like to use the Internet to market the company’s products, but really has no idea where to begin. Marge, who is responsible for distribution, would like to give customers the ability to order online, and would like to allow them to track shipments.

After several telephone conversations with the two brothers, you believe that you can help them to apply technology to many of the needs of their organization.

Some notes about Harold and Don:

  • They don’t have mobile phones, feeling that they survived without them for 60-some years and don’t need them now.
  • They are very fond of their fax machine and use it to fax jokes to their 40ish kids’ workplaces. They have email, but don’t remember to check it. When they get an email, they print it off to read it.
  • Harold is very proud of never having shopped online, even though his wife, Patty, loves eBay.
  • You’ve already realized you might have to explain technical things twice.

The Bush and Obama Presidencies, writing homework help

The Bush and Obama Presidencies

Imagine you have my job and you have to prepare notes to lecture on the Bush and Obama presidencies. Create notes covering the events you consider most important in both presidencies. Try not to be overly one-sided either positively or negatively about either President, but include both possible positive and negative interpretations of the same events. Cover at least ten major topics/events for each president. You can be concise but you need to present enough details as to flesh out the main ideas of your “lecture” about each topic.

Troy University the Leadership Skills of Lysistrata Case Discussion

1. Pick your favorite primary text from “Lysistrata”

2. Ask yourself, “Why is this my favorite text?” and jot down your answers – be specific. For example, “I liked the part in Equiano’s narrative when he described the slave ship because ….” The “because” part is the important part of the answer. Make a list of notes.

3. Look over the list and compare your notes about the text you’ve chosen with the question areas from the “General Questions” handout (i.e. did you seem most to focus on the plot, the characters, the setting, or what?).

4. Looking at the “General Questions” handout, ask yourself the questions under whichever heading you’ve chosen in regard to the particular work (preferably the particular character, episode, or feature of the particular work) you’ve chosen. Start writing down your answers to these questions, ideally in complete sentences, using brief, targeted quotes from the text to support your answers.

5. Turn your answer(s) to one or more of these “General Questions” into an essay in which you TEACH a FELLOW READER (that is, someone who has also read the work in question, someone who DOES NOT NEED YOU TO SUMMARIZE) about the meaning of the text.

6. Be sure you have a clear thesis statement, if possible (and Googling “literary thesis statement” will help you get a grip on this, but partly, the assignment is a way to help you figure out what a thesis is), and be sure you support that thesis.

7. In both your TITLE and your FIRST SENTENCE, please clearly indicate the topic of your essay, including naming a text and (if available) an author’s name. For example, a solid title for a short essay might be something like this: “The Power of Queens in Virgil’s Aeneid.”

8. Be sure you have some organization for your essay, which, at a minimum, means paragraphs! Ideally, you will be building an argument that has at least a couple of propositions that need some support, and each of these propositions is likely to require writing at least one paragraph.

9. Be sure you use at least a few concise quotes from the text that support your argument.

10. Rewrite/revise, edit, and proofread the essay a couple of times, making it as seamless, coherent and concise as you possibly can. Make it look (in terms of format) like the sample I gave you. Make it one page ONLY!

Here are a couple of links that may be helpful. First, here’s a list of General Questions (from Ann Charters’s anthology “The Story”. You can print this out and use the questions listed on the two pages to help you come up with ideas about the work you want to write about.

Case Study 1: Deviant Behaviors

Donald Sterling, an American businessman and attorney, was the owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, a professional basketball franchise of the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1981 to 2014. In April 2014, Sterling was banned for life from the NBA after private recordings of him making racist comments were made public. In this case study, you will investigate the manner in which social controls may have helped or hurt Sterling in his fight to maintain ownership of the Los Angeles Clippers.

Read the article titled “Donald Sterling built an empire and an image; words were his undoing”, located at: http://www.latimes.com/local/la-me-donald-sterling….

Write a three to five (3-5) page paper in which you:

  1. Determine whether or not you believe social controls played a significant role in Donald Sterling’s loss of ownership of the Los Angeles Clippers. Provide a rationale to support your position.
  2. Debate whether you believe that the social norms for men of Sterling’s age support the use of derogatory language when discussing a member of another race. Next, support or criticize whether the social norms of men Sterling’s age are reasonable in a very “politically correct” society. Provide support for your response.
  3. Argue for or against the theory that an “informal sanction” (i.e., ostracism by peers) would have deterred Sterling’s behavior. Next, specify whether or not the “informal sanctions” would have satisfied anyone who was offended by his comments. Provide a rationale to support your response.
  4. The $2.5 million fine that the NBA imposed on Donald Sterling was a formal sanction for his comments. Considering the fine, elaborate on the primary manner in which this formal sanction carried out the purpose of protecting the players and the league. Justify your response.
  5. Use at least three (3) quality academic resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar type Websites do not qualify as academic resources.

The specific course learning outcomes associated with this assignment are:

  • Classify risk factors associated with age of onset and future deviant and / criminal behavior.

Write a 2-3 page pamphlet plus reference pages

You are a human services program administrator employed at an outpatient clinic that provides counseling services to 300 active clients. Recently, one of the licensed professional counselors at your agency was terminated after several clients came forward with allegations of misconduct. One client alleged the counselor asked for a discount on auto parts at the client’s place of employment. Another client alleged the same counselor approached them about “going on a date.” A third client alleged the counselor asked for frequent hugs during therapy sessions.

Create a pamphlet that you will give to future clients at your agency to help them understand dual relationships and boundary violations. Describe information from this week’s textbook readings, ethical standards and other sources that will help clients understand what kinds of relationships constitute boundary violations and how they may report inappropriate conduct by clinic staff (offer a fictitious phone number in the pamphlet to report misconduct).

Instructions:

  • Write a 2-3 page pamphlet plus reference pages, which are required.
  • Be sure your answer names and discusses relevant established ethical codes.

Rhetorical Appeals Assignment, writing homework help

The goal of this assignment is to give you the opportunity to practice applying the rhetorical appeals to your advertisement. Your job in Project 2 is to use the rhetorical appeals to help you analyze an advertisement in your local community, so it’s time to demonstrate your understanding of and ability to apply the rhetorical appeals. Here are the steps for you to take to accomplish this goal:

  • First, read the material and watch the video in the Rhetorical Appeals link in the Project 2 module (found under “Multimodal Projects 1 & 2”).
  • Next, attach a picture of the community advertisement you’ve selected for Project 2.
  • Finally, in approximately 200-400 words identify how the ad you’ve chosen uses the rhetorical appeals. Provide a single example from your chosen ad of each rhetorical appeal. For example, if I was looking at an anti-smoking advertisement, I might comment on how the ad is appealing to pathos (the audience’s emotions) by using a graphic image of a smoker who has lost his/her voice box as a consequence of smoking-related throat cancer. That same advertisement may appeal to ethos by using a beloved celebrity spokesperson whom viewers respect and trust.
  • Helpful questions to consider: How is the composer of this advertisement gaining viewers’ trust (ethos)? What can be seen in the visual artifact that makes viewers believe the composer is an authority and knows what he/she is arguing or selling (ethos)? What about the artifact’s organization (for example, large font or flashy colors) makes an attempt to sell viewers something (logos)? Does the advertisement seem rational in its description of the product (logos)? Does something in the ad inspire an emotional reaction (pathos) in viewers? If so, what is provoking this reaction?
  • Think again about the relationship among knowledge, language, imagery, persuasion, and power. Use this Assignment to help you begin to do the rhetorical and critical thinking needed for Project 2.

While all the Habits of Mind are involved in all work for this course, Metacognition is critical to analytical work.

Provide a description of the company at which you work, writing assignment help (6-7 pages)

1. Provide a description of the company at which you work(ed).

2. Describe an “agency problem” (not just any problem) within the firm and discuss what you think is causing the problem and how the problem might be better controlled.

3. Describe the job dimensions of the firm and discuss whether or not you believe the current design is appropriate for the firm. Discuss any suggestions you might have for improving the job design.

4. Describe the compensation package for executives/employees within the firm and discuss whether or not you believe that the compensation package is effective. Discuss any suggestions that you might have for improving the compensation package.

5. Describe the individual performance measures for executives/employees within the firm and discuss whether or not you believe that the performance measures are effective. Discuss any suggestions that you might have for improving the performance measures.

While these questions focus on the latter half of the course, you should remain mindful of the economic concepts that were developed in the beginning of the course. An “A” paper will demonstrate a thorough understanding of the relevant topics, completely discuss each of the five points of the paper, use terminology appropriate to the topic, and use word choice, spelling, and sentence structure appropriate for graduate-level work.

It needs to be 6-7 pages, at least 3 references and NO PLAGIARISM, I will check!

Rasmussen College Critical Thinking and Anecdotal Evidence Research Paper

An anecdote is essentially a short story about an interesting or relevant event that happened to someone. Anecdotal evidence is when, rather than providing evidence based on scientific research, statistics, or experimentation, personal stories related to a similar topic are collected and offered as evidence.

An example of this would be a friend of yours discouraging you from patronizing a local grocery store by telling you the story of how they thought they were treated rudely by the manager when reporting on an employee not rushing to wash their hands after coughing on them. Though usually compelling (it can be hard to disregard a good story), anecdotal evidence is not necessarily the most reliable source of information.

In looking at the fact that police officers can’t strike without reprimand, how would you ensure that police labor and the City were able to negotiate in good-faith?
the fact that police officers can’t strike without reprimand should the city negotiate in good faith?

No, one wants to go on strike, however that is the last resort for some.
If the city doesn’t negotiate in good faith, what about the well being of the city? The people the police are there to protect and serve?  My opinion is the union should do what’s right by the police and their rights, as it is their job to defend. Police should be able to go on strike and have the right to collective bargaining in good faith, and without being reprimanded. If all police departments went on strike at the same time as they did in Las Vegas with the Culinary and Bartenders unions. The more people there are the stronger bargaining chip there will be for the unions.

Is there a way to increase fairness to the employees and encourage bilateral negotiations without the leverage of a strike-capability?You could use positional bargaining to split the difference.

Race: Are we so different?

Please read through the requirements & using APA citation!!!!!!!!!!

INTRODUCTION

Anthropologists are at the forefront of understanding cultural and biological variation in humans. For this activity, you will ‘visit’ a museum exhibition that was specifically created to address issues of race and racism. The exhibit is also available online, so we can access it for this discussion.

“This exhibition was developed by the Science Museum of Minnesota in collaboration with the American Anthropological Association. Since its original run in 2007, RACE has sparked conversation and contemplation at institutions in over 25 cities all across the United States. By deconstructing historical, scientific and social ideas of race, the exhibit helps guests understand what race is and more importantly, what race is not. It accomplishes this by focusing on three main themes: the everyday experience of race, the history of the idea of race in the United States and the science that is challenging some commonly held ideas about race.” (Quoted from http://www.pacificsciencecenter.org/Exhibits/race (链接到外部网站。))

The exhibit came to Seattle at the Pacific Science Center, so perhaps you may have seen it in 2013/2014.

RESEARCH

1. For this activity, first read the textbook material on race so that you understand the anthropological viewpoint on this subject.

2. Review the textbook PowerPoint on Chapter 14-Inequality posted in this week’s module.

3. Use the website below to complete the research. It is the online version of the touring museum exhibit which you can access electronically:http://www.understandingrace.org/ (链接到外部网站。)

Italy.. Discussion Questions

250 word minimum per question.

Catholic Italy

* Overall, do you find that the Vatican as an institution has helped or hindered Italy?

* Choose a religious festival celebrated somewhere in Italy and present it to the class. Does it reflect regionalism? OR Choose an Italian saint and present it to the class. Include a small picture. In what way can the reliance on saints be interpreted as a typically Italian attitude?

Dante’s Inferno

* Let’s create an overview of Dante’s Inferno. Mention one significant aspect of the structure of the Divine Comedy or the Inferno.

* Choose a punishment and briefly explain how it exemplifies the law of contrapasso. Include a relevant quote from Dante’s work and a link to a picture.

* How does the Inferno relate to the importance of spectacle? How does it relate to Catholicism?

The Italian Renaissance

* Look through the collection of artworks and select one of the paintings. Explain how the work moves towards, perfectly represents, or begins to move away from Renaissance aesthetics. Pay particular attention to realism vs. idealism, the reproduction of “human” space, and the use of mythology. You may choose a painting not included in the collection if you find it is particularly representative. The Website: Overview of Italian Painters from 1200 to 1850 is a great resource for finding other Italian Renaissance artists.

Relation to Renaissance

“Moving towards the Renassaince”

Brief description

Saint Andrew, characterized by the cross and a book, is represented in profile.

Significance

Certain medieval characteristics are still evident, for example the gold background and the subject matter.

However, Saint Andrew’s body seems to jut out from the background: he is tangible as opposed to a flat figure. His green cloak creates mass, making him look chunky. His somewhat droopy eyes also make him more of a human than saintly figure.

The cross is particularly symbolic of the shift to the Renaissance. This classic Christian symbol is shown here in perspective – it is no longer simply a symbol but an actual object in (human) space.

* In Renaissance paintings, beauty represents philosophical principles. Do you think beauty can be more than just appearance? How would you relate this to Italian identity?

Making the Italians

* What are you most proud of when it comes to your country? How does this compare to Italy?

* What is the difference between a nation and a government? How is Italy peculiar from this point of view?

* Garibaldi and Cavour – Who is better suited to become a national hero? Explain. Why do you think Italians don’t really have political heroes? How does this attitude compare to the American notion of the Founding Fathers?

Criminal Organizations

* Some sociologists have claimed that Italians are actually subconsciously proud of the Mafia – to a degree at least. How would you explain this stance? How do you think the Italian government should tackle such a problematic attitude?

* Summarize Pasquale’s feelings toward “the System” at the end of the chapter “Angelina Jolie.” What has the Camorra made possible? What has the Camorra taken away?

Paine the Age of Reason Chapter 1

The Prompt:

Choose two of the following primary texts:

1. “Billy Graham on the Communist Threat” (video)Billy Graham on the Communist Threat (Links to an external site.)
Minimize Video

2. Thomas Paine’s The Age of Reason (the excerpts assigned as required reading)
3. Emma Goldman’s “The Philosophy of Atheism”
4. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “Letter from Birmingham City Jail” (full text: https://web.cn.edu/kwheeler/documents/Letter_Birmingham_Jail.pdf (Links to an external site.)

Find one commonality within your two chosen texts. Provide an analysis of how that commonality reflects their shared influence of the Protestant Reformation.

Further Notes:

Follow the Writing Assignment Rubric precisely.

This may seem obvious, but I want to state it clearly: choose a commonality that relates directly to the Protestant Reformation.

Keep in mind in your writing that sharing a commonality does not detract from their differences. Make clear that you understand this!

This prompt allows for many different arguments. Please make only one argument that you explore in depth. A helpful hint to remember is to keep it simple, creative, and insightful.

Remember that making one argument does not exempt you from displaying a broader view of your chosen theme. Begin with a broader view of the commonality you posit then siphon that view into a tangible, creative analysis.

When referencing your primary written texts, please provide the page numbers in parenthesis at the end of the sentence. For “Letter from a Birmingham City Jail,” you can use either the page numbers in your PDF or the page numbers in the provided website. For the two PDFs that contain excerpts from Paine’s work, include the chapter and page number in your citations. This will count towards your total word count, so double check that.

If you decide to use the video of Billy Graham as one of your texts, then there is no need to provide citations when referenced.

References to other readings or in-class discussions do not have to be cited, but you must display your understanding of these materials.

#thesis statement have to be Bold.

#MLA style, double space.

Your rhetorical/visual analysis rough draft, homework help

Project 2 Rough Draft

In addition to attaching your rough drafts here via this Assignment link, please also post your Project 2 rough draft (attached as a Word-accessible document and a Powerpoint-accessible document) in the appropriate Group discussion board forum (not the smaller Team discussion board forums) by the deadline. Within that forum, look for the thread with your Team animal name. More detailed instructions about where and how to post your rough drafts for peer review may be communicated by your Group instructor.

You shoul attach the following documents:

  • Your rhetorical/visual analysis rough draft (a full draft, including preliminary secondary sources).
  • A list of concerns and questions you have about your rhetorical/visual analysis rough draft.
  • A rough draft of your own community advertisement.
  • A rough draft of your 2-4 reflection over the rhetorical choices you made in constructing your community advertisement. This reflection should identify what community/cut you’re targeting in your ad.
  • A list of concerns you have about your own community advertisement rough draft.

Remember: you are attaching your rough draft in two locations: here via this Assignment link and in the Discussion Board forum for viewing by your classmates.

While all the Habits of Mind are involved in all work for this course, completing a full-length rough draft requires Persistence and Engagement.

Rough drafts are due by 6/11.

heart failure in america, writing homework help

Please do a paragraph about this post with this instruction .

Nursing interventions appropriate for Mrs. J. at time of her admission:

The initial goal is to stabilize Mrs. J’s. condition. We want to provide conservative measures that will improve her comfort and condition to avoid mechanical ventilator support. This includes medications and oxygen. Nursing interventions would include, monitoring blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate and status, auscultating lung and heart sounds, placing IV or obtaining IV access. Placing patient on telemetry and providing oxygen and medications as ordered. Calming and reassuring the patient, informing patient what is being done and why, and obtaining further medical and allergy history. Check Lab work such as BNP, CPK, and troponin to check for fluid overload and cardiac muscle deterioration, electrolytes should be monitored and checked frequently, especially potassium and sodium levels due to Lasix. Monitor strict I&O to check for fluid balance, and place an indwelling Foley catheter for accurate output measurements.

Rationale for the administration of each of the following medications:

  • IV furosemide (Lasix) is given to alleviate her respiratory symptoms. Mrs. J. has a history of chronic heart failure and presents with shortness of breath. Her SpO2 is 82% and pulmonary crackles were heard. Lasix is a diuretic and helps treat fluid retention in people with congestive heart failure (CHF), (Brywczynski 2010).
  • IV Enalapril (Vasotec), is an angiotensin converting enzyme (Ace inhibitor). It is used to treat high blood pressure and congestive heart failure. It is also used to treat a disorder of the ventricles (the lower chambers of the heart that allow blood to flow out of the heart (Enalapril uses and dosages,Drugs.com). This disorder can decrease the heart’s ability to pump blood to the body. Mrs. J. has symptoms of CHF; this is why Enalapril was ordered for her.
  • Metoprolol (Lopressor), is a beta-blocker and is used to treat chest pain and hypertension. It is also used to treat or prevent a heart attack. It can be used to treat atrial fibrillation, which Mrs. J. has according to the initial cardiac monitoring, indicating a ventricular rate of 132 and atrial fibrillation.
  • IV Morphine sulfate (Morphine), is an opioid and usually used for pain but it can also be used to treat “air hunger” Patients with respiratory distress due to acute pulmonary edema in heart failure will have a significantsympathetic response , including increased blood pressure and heart rate (Brywczynski 2010).

Describe four cardiovascular conditions that may lead to heart failure (American Heart Association, 2016):

Heart failure is the inability of the heart to pump a sufficient amount of blood to adequately perfuse the body to meet its metabolic needs. Heart failure is common as people age, and is usually a result of years of added stress due to health conditions that damage the heart or make it work too hard. Poor lifestyle habits like smoking, being overweight, eating foods high in fat and cholesterol and physical inactivity increases your risk of heart disease, heart attack and stroke. Hypertension, prior myocardial infarction (MI), valve disease or longstanding obstructive lung disease can also lead to heart failure being overweight, eating foods high in fat and cholesterol and physical inactivity – can also contribute to heart failure (American Heart Association, 2016).

  • Hypertension (HTN): When pressure in the blood vessels are high, the heart has to pump harder than normal to keep the blood circulating. This takes a toll on the heart, and over time the chambers get larger and weaker.
  • Myocardial Infarction (MI): Past heart attack (myocardial infarction)
A heart attack occurs when an artery that supplies blood to the heart muscle gets blocked. The loss of oxygen and nutrients damages the heart’s muscle tissue – part of it essentially “dies.” The damaged heart tissue does not contract as well which weakens the heart’s ability to pump blood.
  • · Abnormal heart valves : Heart valve problems can result from disease, infection such as endocarditis or a defect present at birth. When the valves don’t open or close completely during each heartbeat, the heart muscle has to pump harder to keep the blood moving. If the workload becomes too great, heart failure results. Heart muscle disease can also cause the heart to overwork and cause heart failure such as; (dilated cardiomyopathy, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) or inflammation (myocarditis).
  • · Coronary artery disease : When cholesterol and fatty deposits build up in the heart’s arteries, less blood can reach the heart muscle. This build-up is known as atherosclerosis. Blood flow can become totally obstructed, causing a heart attack. Coronary artery disease can also contribute to having high blood pressure which, over time, may lead to heart failure.
  • Severe lung disease or sleep apnea : When the lungs don’t work properly, the heart has to work harder to get available oxygen to the rest of the body. Sleep apnea is also a risk factor for such medical problems as high blood pressure, heart failure, diabetes and stroke.

What can be done in the form of medical/nursing interventions to prevent the development of heart failure in each condition American Heart (Association 2016) .

Hypertension: Eat a well-balanced low salt, low fat diet. Maintain a healthy weight. Become more active and exercise daily. Physical activity not only helps control blood pressure it helps you manage your weight, strengthen your heart and lower your stress level. Take your antihypertensive medications daily and properly. Check with your doctor or pharmacist regarding over the counter medications, such as decongestants that can have interactions with your medications. Know how to check your blood pressure and check it daily at rest.

Myocardial Infarction (MI) and Coronary artery disease (CAD): Good nutrition, weight management and physical activity. Get your cholesterol checked. Maintain a healthy lifestyle by avoiding smoking and alcohol. Manage high blood pressure.

Abnormal heart valves: Can be congenital, caused by virus or infection. Inform your patient to let doctor or dentist know of your risk prior to any dental or oral procedures or surgery. Will need antibiotic before procedure to prevent endocarditis. Promote good oral care to prevent tooth decay and abscesses that may lead to infections. Cardiomyopathy is when the heart muscle becomes enlarged, thick or rigid, and in rare cases the muscle tissue is replaced with scar tissue. These patients also need a healthy, low fat, low cholesterol, low sugar diet, Weight management and weight loss. As with all cardiac prevention; exercise and healthy lifestyle to prevent further cardiac complications.

Taking into consideration that most mature adults take at least six prescription medications, discuss four nursing interventions that can help prevent problems caused by multiple drug interactions in older patients. Provide rationale for each intervention you recommend. Regina M. Phillips (2011):

  • Education: Provide information and education to older patients and their caregivers about the medications and supplements used. Reviewing what the medications are for, and their possible side effects can prevent adverse drug reactions. It prevents misunderstandings and confusion regarding the medication and its side effects and possible interactions with other medications and herbal supplements.
  • Compliance: Encourage older adults to use the same pharmacy group for medication needs so that a comprehensive, computerized medication profile can be maintained and potential medication duplication or other adverse drug events (ADEs) can be avoided. When multiple healthcare providers prescribe multiple medications, it’s known as polypharmacy. This might be done for several reasons, but the main reason is that older patients tend to visit several different physicians or nurse practitioners; one provider may be unaware of medication recommendations made by another, leading to unintentional polypharmacy.
  • Monitoring of medications. Some older adults have insufficient financial reserves or inadequate or no insurance to pay for all necessary medications. They may make some medications last longer by “stretching” the doses to save money. Some might eliminate the medication completely because they’re too costly. Others might purchase medications from less expensive Internet pharmacies or from other countries. Although these medications may be cheaper, medications from these sources may not contain the same pharmacologic components as drugs manufactured in the United States or from more customary pharmacies and could be harmful and potentially deadly.
  • Advocate: Advocate for older patients. Investigate non pharmacologic treatment measures, as well as less frequent medication dosing or a simplified medication regimen whenever possible. Ask doctor questions regarding why they are taking the medications and if it is truly needed when applicable. Tell patient to follow up with their physician regularly and notify the doctor of any changes with medications, supplements or diet.

Paraphrasing

I need someone to paraphrase two paragraphs.

Final forum! Read the following short excerpts. Choose TWO and write a paraphrase of each in one forum thread. The trick is to read the original, then try and rephrase it as if you were telling me what you had read—without quoting directly. That’s paraphrasing. It has to be in your own words. It sometimes helps to read it a couple of times, then write without looking back at the original. You do this all the time, by the way, when you talk about what someone said. Don’t forget the in-text citation (in parentheses). Each successful paraphrase will earn you 12.5 points.

1. “The Antarctic is the vast source of cold on our planet, just as the sun is the source of our heat, and it exerts tremendous control on our climate,” [Jacques] Cousteau told the camera. “The cold ocean water around Antarctica flows north to mix with warmer water from the tropics, and it cools both the surface water and our atmosphere. Yet the fragility of this regulating system is now threatened by human activity.” From “Captain Cousteau,” Audubon (May 1990):17.

2. Of the more than 1000 bicycling deaths each year, three-fourths are caused by head injuries. Half of those killed are school-age children. One study concluded that wearing a bike helmet can reduce the risk of head injury by 85 percent. In an accident, a bike helmet absorbs the shock and cushions the head. From “Bike Helmets: Unused Lifesavers,” Consumer Reports (May 1990): 348.

3. Matisse is the best painter ever at putting the viewer at the scene. He’s the most realistic of all modern artists, if you admit the feel of the breeze as necessary to a landscape and the smell of oranges as essential to a still life. “The Casbah Gate” depicts the well-known gateway Bab el Aassa, which pierces the southern wall of the city near the sultan’s palace. With scrubby coats of ivory, aqua, blue, and rose delicately fenced by the liveliest gray outline in art history, Matisse gets the essence of a Tangier afternoon, including the subtle presence of the bowaab, the sentry who sits and surveys those who pass through the gate. From Peter Plagens, “Bright Lights.” Newsweek (26 March 1990): 50.

4. While the Sears Tower is arguably the greatest achievement in skyscraper engineering so far, it’s unlikely that architects and engineers have abandoned the quest for the world’s tallest building. The question is: Just how high can a building go? Structural engineer William LeMessurier has designed a skyscraper nearly one-half mile high, twice as tall as the Sears Tower. And architect Robert Sobel claims that existing technology could produce a 500-story building. From Ron Bachman, “Reaching for the Sky.” Dial (May 1990): 15.

200 words, Discussion post

With this forum, you are to discuss one (1) of the “Historical American Works” or one (1) of the “Historic Global Works” listed in the “Supplemental Readings” section of the course lessons. This discussion will help you prepare for your essay on one of these arguments due during the next section of this course (week three).

In your discussion, state the purpose of the reading and cite the thesis statement (if applicable). If there is no explicit thesis, state the reading’s claim. Then, lay out the structure of the reading to the class, and let the class know if this structure is organized and logical (you may claim that it is not organized – it’s up to you). Let the reader know how this method of organization helps or does not help the author’s purpose. Then, discuss the style of writing – does the style help the author prove his/her point? Finally, study the introduction and conclusion of your chosen reading. Explain how the author ‘hooks’ the reader in, or, conversely, if the introduction is not strong, explain why. Discuss the conclusion of the essay as well, and point out its strengths and weaknesses. Please answer these questions fully in your response (use thoughtful sentences).

In your response, cite the essay at least once using an in-text citation. (See this link for a good example of how to cite an article inside of an essay: https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/747/2/

Also, create a works cited citation for the essay. (Hint: The citation is already done for you in the “Supplemental Reading List.” Replicate the listing in your post.) This should be in MLA style. Respond to students who chose articles different than your post. Please post a full and rich discussion.

Enhancing Your Sales Expectations, Module 5 CT assignment help

Module 5: Enhancing Your Sales Expectation

CT 5 PSL460 SALES

Overcoming Objections (70 Points)

One of the hardest aspects of sales is overcoming objection. Many times, salespeople will give up after the first objection from the customer. Being a successful salesperson means overcoming objections and being confident in yourself to know that the customers are not rejecting you, but what you are trying to sell them. Managing your expectations is essential and can help with overcoming objections.

For this CT assignment, assume that you are a sales manager. As the manager, you have been tasked with creating a plan for helping your sales staff overcome objections. In order to create the plan, you have decided to create a training response to the typical objections that many salespeople hear. The five typical objections are listed below:

  1. They believe it will be a hassle to switch companies.
  2. Your company is not as well branded as the competitors.
  3. They can possibly do the work internally instead of using your services.
  4. The timing is bad.
  5. They have an existing relationship with other another.

For each of these five objections, you will create a response plan for overcoming the objection. How would you handle each of these objections in order to make the sale? Remember that your responses should be geared towards the sales staff and be in a training format. Your paper should be 2-3 pages in length and follow APA guidelines by properly citing any references you use.

MUST HAVE TITLE AND REFERENCE PAGE NOT INCLUDED IN PAGE LENGTH REQUIREMENT!

MUST HAVE RUNNING HEADER AND SECTION HEADERS IN APA FORMAT

Epidemiology of Maternal, Infant, and Child Health , writing homework help

Improving the well-being of mothers, infants, and children is an important public health goal as their well-being determines the health of the next generation. However, the epidemiology of maternal, infant, and child health is complex. For example, the infant mortality rate among First Nations, Inuit, or non-Indigenous groups in Quebec, Canada, is significantly higher than other Canadians despite a universal health insurance system (Luo et al., 2012). Socioeconomic status, educational attainment, and other social and biological factors may influence such disparity (Bryant, Worjoloh, Caughey, & Washington, 2010).

Fortunately, epidemiologists and policy makers are developing and implementing preventive and intervention strategies. An example of this is represented in Healthy People 2020. These strategies are aimed at addressing specific outcomes such as reducing maternal mortality during pregnancy or increasing vaccination rates among infants and children. Epidemiologists are also developing novel methods to assess outcomes of the interventions.

For this Discussion, review the week’s Learning Resources and consider the current issues of maternal, infant, and child health. Then select a maternal, infant, or child health issue that impacts your community. Consider potential solutions to this issue and how you might assess success.

With these thoughts in mind:

Post a brief description of the epidemiology of a maternal, infant, or child health issue in your community. Assuming you had unlimited resources, explain what initiative you might implement to reduce the burden of this issue in your community. Provide one specific measurable outcome that you might expect to see from this program. Using the “Leading Health Indicators” resource, select and describe two indicators that best assess the status of the outcome you desire. Provide a rationale for your selection of the indicators as an assessment of whether your initiative is achieving outcomes.

Discussion must be at least 650 words

Is Structuralism more like New Criticism or Reader-Response theory, writing homework help

Read Chapter 5 of Texts and Contexts: Writing about literature with critical theory. Lynn. S. (2011). Texts and Contexts: Writing about literature with critical theory. (6th ed.) Boston, MA: Pearson Education. Two important terms in Structuralist theory are signifier and signified. Define these terms and explain how they are used in Structuralist theory to find meaning in literary works. Compared to the critical theories studied last week, do you find that Structuralism is more like New Criticism or Reader-Response theory, or vice versa? Support your assertions with clear reasoning and examples.
