You will write a Software Development Project Plan for a given software high-level scope using any of the methods taught in this course.

Project Plan Assignment Guidelines:

You will write a Software Development Project Plan for a given software high-level scope using any of the methods taught in this course.

Worth: 20% or course grade

Here are some guidelines for your project plan assignment:

• Envision your dream software project and how you would manage it using one of the methodologies covered in the course.

• It can be a small, medium, or large project with an open source ($0) budget all the way up to a multimillion dollar budget.

Define your project:

• Describe your project and the reason for it in approximately one page.

Process:

• Pick your process which can be off-the-shelf, or a hybrid of several other processes.

• Provide a flowchart diagram that details your process at high level, and low-level if necessary. In other words diagram the process for the entire project scope, and at various lower levels (such as one month cycles) if necessary.

• Then, describe your process in at least 2-3 pages of text.

• After this, describe this process as applied to your specific project.

Schedule:

• Include at least a Gantt chart for the completion timeline. There are many online tools for creating Gantt charts, but the most robust method seems to be Microsoft project, and/or Visio.  PERT chart is optional.

Conclusion:

• The last part will be special issues and/or risks and how you plan to address these. You can use a bullet point format for these.

• Finally, in your 1-2 page conclusion please explain why you picked this approach, and compare it to at least two other alternatives which you feel would less successful.

That is it, other information is up to you. The final report should be 14 pages or less, including cover page references pages.

The previous should be regarded as just suggestions, the final report structure is up to you.  You may choose to include less or additional or other topics not listed.

Please format your report similarly to the short paper submissions.  Good luck!

As health insurance providers shift from fee for service to value based payment models, the importance of adapting to the changing industry landscape is necessary for any healthcare provider to thrive. This includes the implementation of electronic medical records, strategies for managing bundled payment participation, and initiating preventative care and cessation measures among their patients. Employees are often on the front line of these changes, meaning their day to day functions as well as the organizational structure could significantly be impacted. It is important that leaders not only lead process change but also lead their people through those times of change (Selivanoff, 2018).

As Ted Powell noted, there are four stages of change that employees will progress through; denial, emotional, acceptance, and commitment. It is important that leaders accelerate their teams past the first two phases in order to make lasting, positive change (Powell, 2014). Addressing intellectual and emotional factors that may influence an employee’s willingness to change is highly recommended to move forward. From an intellectual standpoint, leaders should explain the necessary steps and reasons for change with supporting data or industry examples. This will ensure the employee that what is being asked of them is possible. In addition, the leader must appeal to their emotions. Managers should frame conversations so the employee feels the change is in line with their needs or values (Selivanoff, 2019).

Change is inevitable. However, there are many who become extremely uncomfortable when asked to step away from their comfort zone and can become defiant; often due to fear of the unknown, thus blocking the necessary movement forward.

Powell (2014) describes the four typical stages employees may experience as a result of a large organizational change:

  1. Denial:”If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” There’s no need for change.
  2. Emotional: Problem-identifying mindset. Low morale and negative emotions run rampant.
  3. Acceptance: Problem-solving mindset. An optimistic attitude starts growing.
  4. Commitment: Increase in morale and productivity. We’ve overcome the worst together and are stronger for it.

I felt that the overall take home message from the article “The Four Stage of Organizational Change” was that in order to get anything accomplished, you need buy-in from your staff. To do that, you need patience, communication, and resources in place to support them. Broder (2013) did a great job laying out five steps necessary to get “buy-in” from employees in order to get anything accomplished.

  1. Lay out the vision. Clearly state what and why it is important to change.
  2. Personalize tasks. Assign tasks with measurable goals that play to their strengths in order to motivate them to achieve success.
  3. Follow-up. Stay connected during process to trouble-shoot as needed and let them know you’re willing to help them through the needed changes.
  4. Nip resistance in the bud. One rotten apple can spoil the bunch so address negativity immediately.
  5. Be prepared to change the change. Solicit feedback from employees and fine-tune the plan by making corrections to process as you go along

I think the feelings some employees express as a result of change are similar to those when experiencing grief. They’re somewhat similar in that the employees may feel as though they’re losing something familiar and are grieving the loss, being forced to embrace something new that they did not choose for themselves. Ultimately, you cannot rush anyone through any of the stages – they will have to work through them at their own pace.

1. Some of the scholars who talk about the US sitcom Will & Grace from the 1990s argue that the show is queer not only because two main characters are gay (Will and Jack), but because of other queer themes in the show, including its representations of sexuality and familial ties that don’t conform to traditional heterosexual norms.

a. true

b. false

2. About which two movies is Dev Shah upset that they used “brownface,” or making up white actors to look they are Indian?

a. Ghandhi and Slumdog Millionaire

b. Short Circuit 2 and The Social Network

c. Lion and Aloha

d. Crazy Rich Asians and Black Panther

3. Drawing on our course readings and lecture, (class powerpoint is below) provide the definition of the term “hegemony.” What do each of these programs – Further Off the Straight and Narrow and “Indians on TV” from Master of None – have to say about hegemonic representations of identity on television, and what is a form of resistance or change each also points to?

Your answer should be in full sentences, and no more than 250 words. If you use exact words from any source, whether it’s the textbook or the videos, you must put them in quotation marks and identify the source in some way. Even when you paraphrase, make it clear to the reader where your ideas are coming from. e.g. According to our textbook, hegemony is…

Week 5

Answer 3 topics questions.

Topic 1

In many positions there is going to be a time where you are tasked with a project that requires you to conduct some type of research.  We all know there is an enormous amount of information to be found on the web; but what are the limitations of using search engines such as google?  Is there a better way to research without using a search engine?  Will you find anything different or is using a search engine the way to go?

Topic 2

Small businesses are the backbone of our economy; if you were to start a business what would it be about?  How would you determine if your idea for the business is a good one or not?  What steps would you take to make sure you are making the right decision?

Or – if you are not interesting in having your own business, tell us why.

Topic 3

Surveys are a very important tool when gathering data for reports.  We have all completed them whether it be an employee satisfaction survey or one on what the best brand of soup is.  The main question about surveys is – are they valid?  Is the data gathered usable in an analysis situation?

Thinking about all the surveys you have participated in, what were they about and were you totally honest or do you tend to respond like you think the survey taker wants you to respond.  Does it matter if it is anonymous or not?  Why or why not?

Classmates responses comment on them each.

Topic 1

  1. I personally have not been in the position of doing research at work. I can say that the only research I have done is school work. I like using google and I think it is a great source. Although, some research is not legit I still like google. Maybe I trust it so much because I don’t know any other search engine. However, if you do use google you have to take your time and read thoroughly. Some data is made up so checking for credibility is crucial. Another way to do research is by doing surveys. If you have never done one you will be surprised how much information you can collect and utilize.

2. Using search engines like Google restrict us on a lot of ways. When I use Google I am always questioning whether or not the source that I am using is reliable. I am usually good at picking out the good and the bad sources but at times it can be annoying having to bounce back and fourth between all of the sites. About two years ago I was introduced to the PCC library and that changed everything for me when doing research. The PCC online library is a way better search engine because it does not have a bunch of unreliable sources and you can literally narrow down your search to one specific thing. Also if you are having a difficult time navigating through the online library you can go into the actual library and get help from the help desk in the library and they can walk you through just about anything. Another form of research is hands on research that can be very helpful in certain situations because you see what is happening first hand but it all depends on what type of research you are doing.

Thanks for reading!

3.I thing the first thing to be aware of when doing research on the internet is the validity and credibility of the information you find. There is a ton of data and information out there, much of which, is from unknown or unverified sources. One major example that comes to mind was the information being spread on social media by the Russian government in our past election. Many people believed this information at the time, which may have caused a tilt in our election. The impact can be massive.

From an academic standpoint, it is imperative to use information that is backed by credible sources. Wikipedia has vast amounts of useful knowledge, but it is not always correct, so that is one site in particular to be extra careful about. Some other ways of doing research includes using the good old fashioned public library or an online school library. I have tried to use these in the past however, and I find that the process of using a library is just too slow and outdated. I felt like I was able to find equally satisfying data using the web.

4.Lets say you were asked by your company to see what style of shoes or clothing were selling a lot, because they wanted to know what style of shoes or clothing to produce. I actually worked for Columbia Sportswear and saw how they designed shoes, a lot of it was cutting Nike’s and other brands in half and seeing what they were made out of. They would also put several other brand name shirts on the wall and use color schemes and design elements to design their own.  This would be hands on research as opposed to just Goggling something, in this way we can study things hands on.

Topic 2

1. If you were to ask me this question 5-10 years ago, I would say that I want to open a restaurant one day. I say that because that’s where I had years and years of experience. I worked nearly every position in a restaurant from dishwasher, to server, to executive chef. I know the ins and outs of that industry, which I think is part of the foundation to opening a small business. There are so many more factors though: access to capital, research and marketing about your target consumer, which location to rent and the history of that place, plus a large amount of licensing, city code, and insurance hoops to jump through. Another important part to take into effect is to try to imagine if you would be happy doing that line of work 10-20 years down the road. This is hard to imagine accurately, but a really underrated step to consider when opening a business.

My new idea would be to open a small cpa firm, something like me and 1 or 2 other people. I figure this type of business would have fairly low overhead. Work should be steady if you could lock in some small business who need taxes or accounting work down throughout the year. Of course during late winter through early spring, business should be steady with tax season. I am pretty unfamiliar with this business industry though, so my first step would be to talk to local business owners in the industry and get their thoughts about it.

2.  How bout one that doesn’t fail, no restaurants, no antique shops, no worm stores, no yarn stores.  OK the sure bet, buy a McDonald’s, KFC, Wendy’s these will never ever go out of business. Liquor stores seem like they never close… hmmm. How do I know these are good business, because McDonalds has been open for like 80 years, through recessions.  What steps do I make to determine this is the right business, check to make sure its got staying power like Coca Cola and Taco Bell do, then its a good business. Why do these business stay open forever, because the people have decided by patronizing them that they want them till the year 2890, when we all become robots and we no longer get hungry.

3. I am currently in the midst of turning my recently developed program into an official non-profit organization! Little background… I currently hold the job title of a PSW ( a Personal Support Worker)- for those of you who are unfamiliar with this line of work, I provide aid to children and adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Through my work, I became aware that my community had a sufficient lack of resources available to to that population, which is where my entrepreneurial spirit comes in. I had the bright idea to start a fitness class targeted specifically at that audience, long story short- it has been extremely successful and official paperwork is in the works! I knew it would take off because I saw the need for it in my community, first hand- and I got feedback from the families of my clients and community members as well to verify that I was making the right decision. I would love to give updates further down the road!

4.I haven’t done any business before, but I plan to do in the future. For me, to determine if my business idea is good or not, first, I want to make sure that the business I want to do is not new. I want to do this because if you want to do something completely new, you need a lot of budget to get people attention, and I don’t think I have enough budget to do that, so I decide to do something not new. Then, I will do a research about how anyone is doing with this type of business. If they are doing good, I will do. If not, I will change the business until I find a good one.

I think in business, you can not make sure you are making the right decision. But you can do research or analyzing to minimize the risk.

Topic 3

1.I can’t remember the last time I did a survey. I avoid them as much as possible. For me, it is just a waste of time. I can see how collecting the data is really important for businesses in order to target their consumer base though. I feel like they are probably fairly valid. I would estimate that surveys are accurate about 75% of the time. Anyone can lie for one reason or another on them, or for no reason at all. I also assume that some surveys are more reliable than others. Employee satisfaction seems like one that may be more accurate than a random one found on youtube, because people care about more about being heard and seeing results from their responses in a place they go everyday.

I don’t believe it matters if they are anonymous or not. I guess people would be more truthful if they put their own name on it, but even then, who’s enforcing that? Who would track down someone to verify if they answered a question on a survey accurately? In the case of an employee survey, it may be slightly more beneficial in terms of accurate data, to have the survey be anonymous. If an employee had something negative to say, but was afraid to say it because of retribution, they may not be honest about it.

2. Yes, surveys are a valid form of research, but it is important to not put an unreasonable amount of emphasis of their importance. While it can be a good vehicle to receive feedback, the results can be skewed. The people who tend to respond to surveys in my experience, are ones who had an uncommonly bad experience with the product or service. This can be seen by looking at ratemyteachers.com or yelp. Often, the vast majority of the people who experience the teacher or restaurant will have had a perfectly satisfactory experience, put the small percentage that are motivated to post online are those that happened to clash with the teacher or received a rude comment at the restaurant.  This may sound very vindictive but that is how people’s brains work.

I rarely respond to surveys as I simply have better things to do, especially since I seem to receive them constantly these days and would never have the time to do all of them. If I do happen to respond, it’s probably because they are offering a gift card or something.  It doesn’t really matter to me if they are anonymous but a lot of people would be less likely to be honest if they were not anonymous.

3. Yep, surveys are a valid way to conduct research! Results tend to be some of the most accurate, and rather convenient to collect. I have completed so many surveys, all of them voluntarily, except for voting… just kidding! I have taken surveys on how pleased I was with the customer service, how good my food was, how fast the service was- all types and I am typically honest. Though I can recall having given several rather biased answers just because I thought the survey taker had specific expectations. Not all are like that though! I think anonymous surveys are best in some situations, others may gather more useful and accurate studies if the demographics are identified.

4.I think survey is a good source of information you can use to do research or analyze. I took many kind of survey before, such as a course evaluation survey; a survey that ask my opinion about hybrid class in PCC; survey for a company, etc. For me, I am honest when taking any survey because I know that the host of the survey really want the information in the survey so that they can use these information for business or other purposes. And I it should be anonymous because most of the case, you don’t need the participants’ information, you just need their opinion. But I think there still have surveys that need your personal information, but it may be used to served for other purposes.

Iterate your application architecture to have at least 2 subsystems per tier

1. Iterate your application architecture to have at least 2 subsystems per tier (e.g. data tier 3 will have 3.1 local storage and 3.2 cloud storage).

2. List your Functional requirements  as a list (1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, etc) labeled accordingly and place in your SRS (Download the template IEEE 830 cfrom google)Please use the aattachment file with name SRS template as reference to answer the above point.

3. Start your information architecture design matrix by listing all the Functional requirements on an excel sheet and mapping it to Design Pattern (Components) and PV (how you will acquire the components), Moscow method for priority, and engineering considerations like ETC (estimated time to complete)

Please use the attachment with the name DM for reference to answer the above point.

4. Once you know your ETC per FR, then you can populate your Gantt chart using Microsoft project.  Each task that needs to be completed will be listed in left column (along y-axis) and the ETC will be graphically estimated showing bars for each task (along x-axis).

1. Introduction

The introduction to the Software Requirement Specification (SRS) document should provide an overview of the complete SRS document. While writing this document please remember that this document should contain all of the information needed by a software engineer to adequately design and implement the software product described by the requirements listed in this document. (Note: the following subsection annotates are largely taken from the IEEE Guide to SRS).

1.1 Purpose

What is the purpose of this SRS and the (intended) audience for which it is written.

1.2 Scope

This subsection should:

(1) Identify the software product(s) to be produced by name; for example, Host DBMS, Report Generator, etc

(2) Explain what the software product(s) will, and, if necessary, will not do

(3) Describe the application of the software being specified. As a portion of this, it should:

(a) Describe all relevant benefits, objectives, and goals as precisely as possible. For example, to say that one goal is to provide effective reporting capabilities is not as good as saying parameter-driven, user-definable reports with a 2 h turnaround and on-line entry of user parameters.

(b) Be consistent with similar statements in higher-level specifications (for example, the System Requirement Specification) , if they exist. What is the scope of this software product.

1.3 Definitions, Acronyms, and Abbreviations

This subsection should provide the definitions of all terms, acronyms, and abbreviations required to properly interpret the SRS. This information may be provided by reference to one or more appendixes in the SRS or by reference to other documents.

1.4 References

This subsection should:

(1) Provide a complete list of all documents referenced elsewhere in the SRS, or in a separate, specified document.

(2) Identify each document by title, report number – if applicable – date, and publishing organization.

(3) Specify the sources from which the references can be obtained.

This information may be provided by reference to an appendix or to another document.

1.5 Overview

This subsection should:

(1) Describe what the rest of the SRS contains

(2) Explain how the SRS is organized.

2. General Description

This section of the SRS should describe the general factors that affect ‘the product and its requirements. It should be made clear that this section does not state specific requirements; it only makes those requirements easier to understand.

2.1 Product Perspective

This subsection of the SRS puts the product into perspective with other related products or

projects. (See the IEEE Guide to SRS for more details).

2.2 Product Functions

This subsection of the SRS should provide a summary of the functions that the software will perform.

2.3 User Characteristics

This subsection of the SRS should describe those general characteristics of the eventual users of the product that will affect the specific requirements. (See the IEEE Guide to SRS for more details).

2.4 General Constraints

This subsection of the SRS should provide a general description of any other items that will

limit the developer’s options for designing the system. (See the IEEE Guide to SRS for a partial list of possible general constraints).

2.5 Assumptions and Dependencies

This subsection of the SRS should list each of the factors that affect the requirements stated in the SRS. These factors are not design constraints on the software but are, rather, any changes to them that can affect the requirements in the SRS. For example, an assumption might be that a specific operating system will be available on the hardware designated for the software product. If, in fact, the operating system is not available, the SRS would then have to change accordingly.

3. Specific Requirements

This will be the largest and most important section of the SRS. The customer requirements will be embodied within Section 2, but this section will give the D-requirements that are used to guide the project’s software design, implementation, and testing.

Each requirement in this section should be:

  • Correct
  • Traceable (both forward and backward to prior/future artifacts)
  • Unambiguous
  • Verifiable (i.e., testable)
  • Prioritized (with respect to importance and/or stability)
  • Complete
  • Consistent
  • Uniquely identifiable (usually via numbering like 3.4.5.6)

Attention should be paid to the carefuly organize the requirements presented in this section so that they may easily accessed and understood. Furthermore, this SRS is not the software design document, therefore one should avoid the tendency to over-constrain (and therefore design) the software project within this SRS.

3.1 External Interface Requirements 3.1.1 User Interfaces 3.1.2 Hardware Interfaces 3.1.3 Software Interfaces 3.1.4 Communications Interfaces 3.2 Functional Requirements

This section describes specific features of the software project. If desired, some requirements may be specified in the use-case format and listed in the Use Cases Section.

3.2.1 <Functional Requirement or Feature #1>

3.2.1.1 Introduction

3.2.1.2 Inputs

3.2.1.3 Processing

3.2.1.4 Outputs

3.2.1.5 Error Handling

3.2.2 <Functional Requirement or Feature #2>

3.3 Use Cases 3.3.1 Use Case #1 3.3.2 Use Case #2

3.4 Classes / Objects 3.4.1 <Class / Object #1>

3.4.1.1 Attributes

3.4.1.2 Functions

<Reference to functional requirements and/or use cases>

3.4.2 <Class / Object #2>

3.5 Non-Functional Requirements

Non-functional requirements may exist for the following attributes. Often these requirements must be achieved at a system-wide level rather than at a unit level. State the requirements in the following sections in measurable terms (e.g., 95% of transaction shall be processed in less than a second, system downtime may not exceed 1 minute per day, > 30 day MTBF value, etc).

3.5.1 Performance 3.5.2 Reliability 3.5.3 Availability 3.5.4 Security 3.5.5 Maintainability 3.5.6 Portability 3.6 Inverse Requirements

State any *useful* inverse requirements.

3.7 Design Constraints

Specify design constrains imposed by other standards, company policies, hardware limitation, etc. that will impact this software project.

3.8 Logical Database Requirements

Will a database be used? If so, what logical requirements exist for data formats, storage capabilities, data retention, data integrity, etc.

3.9 Other Requirements

Catchall section for any additional requirements.

4. Analysis Models

List all analysis models used in developing specific requirements previously given in this SRS. Each model should include an introduction and a narrative description. Furthermore, each model should be traceable the SRS’s requirements.

4.1 Sequence Diagrams 4.3 Data Flow Diagrams (DFD) 4.2 State-Transition Diagrams (STD) 5. Change Management Process

Identify and describe the process that will be used to update the SRS, as needed, when project scope or requirements change. Who can submit changes and by what means, and how will these changes be approved.

A. Appendices

Appendices may be used to provide additional (and hopefully helpful) information. If present, the SRS should explicitly state whether the information contained within an appendix is to be considered as a part of the SRS’s overall set of requirements.

Example Appendices could include (initial) conceptual documents for the software project, marketing materials, minutes of meetings with the customer(s), etc.

Hi, I am looking for someone to write an article on the power of branding Paper must be at least 2250 words. Please, no plagiarized work! The researcher of this essay discusses the topic of branding and uses Nokia brand for example. He states that Nokia’s brand is now the 11th powerful brand in the world, and some marketing specialist have somewhat sarcastically recommended that maybe Finland should try to somehow link up with the brand name of Nokia to improve the brand name of the country of Finland. Nokia was able to achieve with strong marketing strategies, which is evolving even now. The key strategy Nokia incorporated while designing its models is that they should pay attention to even the finest details, which could enhance the ease of use for the customer as well as enhance customizable preferences. The other strategy was to introduce phones which could also be a style accessory. “The insight that the handset could be a stylish fashion accessory, rather than merely a communication tool, allowed Nokia to lead the trends and direction of the entire handset.” The researcher states that this strong marketing strategy to come up with products that suits customer’s preferences and importantly giving new perspectives and purposes to the customers with new designs, only enabled Nokia to leapfrog over its competitors. This is in direct contrast to Ericsson and Motorola, that not taking quick strides while moving from analog to digital phones, Nokia became leader in the handset market by 1998 itself. The researcher then concluds that now, with its superior marketing strategies and a strong and powerful brand, Nokia is able to sustain that position.

Create a 7 pages page paper that discusses professional practice in bioscience. Secondly, working with the professional staff of doctors, I expect to learn from their vast experience. They also have a variety of devices and medical technology such as an X-ray machine all, which I will become proficient at using making me a better future veterinary practitioner.

As an intern at the Burwood hospital, have had to work as part of a team mostly with my fellow intern’s assigned duties by the doctor in charge. One of the first duties we were assigned as interns was to carry out an inventory of the facility. we were divided into two teams of 3 each. One was assigned to the laboratories while the other (mine) was to inventory the equipment in the whole hospital. The first team finished a day before mine but accidentally one of them deleted the data they had collected and they were unable to recover it. I proposed we work together and help them redo their work in time, members of my group were however against the idea since it meant they would have to sacrifice their entire free Saturday to clean up someone else’s mess. I, however, convinced them to agree and assisted the other team for at least half the day. The doctor in charge had given us the Job as a team of six so he was not aware we were divided in two, therefore I knew if we delivered half complete work and blamed the other team it would reflect negatively on the whole team.

However, even after our efforts to help them, their part of the inventory came up short after submission. It turned out that in the hurry to complete the job in time, they had overlooked tens of items, which resulted in the whole inventory inclusive of our part being canceled, and the team was asked to repeat the process under the supervisor of a senior veterinary doctor.

However, in order to achieve a sustained level of increase in the aggregate output level, it is important that the government must take efforts which can stabilize the economy. Over the period of time, the overall quantum and level of public debt have increased to a greater length within the UK. Higher public debt levels along with extra reliance on credit by the private sector have resulted in significant economic problems for the UK as an economy. (BBC.co.uk , 2011)

This economic situation of UK, therefore, required a rebalancing of an economy with the reconsideration of both the fiscal as well as monetary policies adopted by the current government of David Cameron. The changes in the fiscal policies of the government were aimed at improving the public finances in medium-term whereas changes brought in within monetary policy framework were aimed to disciplining the financial sector to play an active and positive role for the overall growth of the economy. The overall policy focus is on improving the health of the economy which has weakened in the wake of a current economic crisis.

One of the key policy measures was the changes in the overall taxation system within the country wherein government attempted to further rationalize the tax system. The overall aim of this was to further increase the efficiency of the tax system while at the same time achieves the necessary growth in the economy by increasing government revenue and reducing the tax burden on the private sector of the country. The government announced a system reduction in the main tax rate while further tax concessions have been given to both large as well as small businesses. This reduction is tax rate may be aimed at improving the profitability of the firms while at the same time allowing them to expand and grow in order to increase the level of investment within the economy. Lower tax rates will result in a price reduction which can invariably reduce inflation.

Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide. An abstract is required. According to the paper findings instructional design involves the creation of instructional experiences that enhance the acquisition of knowledge as well as skills in an effective and engaging manner. The process mainly entails determination of prevailing status and requirements of the learner, definitions of objectives of the instruction and creation of interventions that will support in the transition. In an ideal setting, the process is guided by the process of teaching along with adult learning theories that have been tested and may occur in a variety of set-ups. The result of this instruction can be observed directly and measured scientifically, or fully assumed and hidden. There are numerous instructional design concepts and models. however most are founded on the ADDIE model that includes five distinct components. As a discipline, instructional design is associated historically and structurally with cognitive and physical psychology.

This discussion stresses that&nbsp.numerous instructional design concepts have undergone development over the past half a century. Even though the particular blend of processes every so often differs between the instructional models, the majority of the models include instructional problems, along with the designs, developments and assessment of the instructional measures and the materials required to address these issues.&nbsp.Three main domains of learning exist which are supposed to be acknowledged by all the teachers who should utilize them in the construction of lessons.

Write 1 page thesis on the topic cash basis accounting. Finance and accounting Question one The cash basis accounting is used by most of the sole proprietors as well as businesses without inventory. The system is considered appropriate for a small service company, cash-based business or small businesses. On the cash basis, accounting revenue is recognized once cash is received. On the other hand,in accrual accounting expenses tend to be recognized when cash is paid. Cash basis accounting differs with the accrual basis accounting in some ways (Tulsian 23). In cash basis&nbsp.accounting, revenues are recorded on the income statement once cash is received while in accrual-based accounting it is recorded when cash is earned. Cash earned entails cash received from customers. In cash basis accounting expenses are reported once cash is paid out while in accrual-based accounting expenses are reported when they expire or occur. The expiry date is different from the payment period. Cash based accounting is the common mode because it is simple and provides cash flow picture more accurately.

You will prepare and submit a term paper on Economic developments in Germany and their impact on the EU economy.

You will prepare and submit a term paper on Economic developments in Germany and their impact on the EU economy. Your paper should be a minimum of 1750 words in length. This paper demonstrates the main two economic pillars behind the unification were the theories of ‘Regional Trading Block’ and ‘Optimum Currency Area’. The former deals with a free trade area with a two-tier tariff system i.e. zero tariffs within the union members and some positive rate of tariff for the non union-members. (Robson 1999: 109-110) The latter deals with the introduction of a unique currency. it would enable the member states to enjoy the benefit of a fixed exchange rate system with the facility of full currency convertibility. (Krugman and Obstfeld, 1997: 631-33) The simultaneous functioning of a trading block and the optimum currency area was the main theoretical standpoint of the European Union and economic integration was the result of that. Economic integration is desired for the transfer of the benefit of economic development of one country to another. (Czinkota, Rivoli, Ronkainen 1989: 14-16)

Let us consider the economic development of Germany and its influence on the European Union. Here our analysis would be concentrated on the economic development of Germany after the establishment of EU. German economy marks itself as a social market economy as the government undertakes a wide array of social services. As German economy is highly export oriented it advocated for European economic integration. After unification German commercial policies have been highly centred towards union. The social reform policies adopted by Germany for the welfare of the society and the structural industrial reform enhanced the performance of the economy and its global competitiveness.

Write 5 pages thesis on the topic the need to establish a film industry in sierra leone.

Write 5 pages thesis on the topic the need to establish a film industry in sierra leone. Further, schools and colleges were encouraged to join the industry through events such as National Art Festivals. However, all these were dropped at some point. The film has been dragging along without proper regulation and no empowerment at all. Consequently, local Sierra Leoneans can now only produce poor quality films which cannot make it to the international platforms. No wonder, only foreign films shot in Sierra Leone make it to the international level. However, it is worth noting that the spirit to revive the industry is alive. What needs to be done is to set up necessary mechanism such as film schools to empower the industry into producing quality products. Rationale For many in the West, Sierra Leone remains the land of blood diamonds and drugged-up child soldiers, even though the country has been at peace for almost a decade. The film “Blood Diamond” was the one that installed the image for many overseas. At a time when Sierra Leone was desperately looking to rebrand itself, the film scared off tourists and drove away investors. Now, we will aim to erase that image with the establishment of the new film school. The President of Sierra Leone stressed that the film industry will tell a new story of peace, democracy, humanity, and determined to progress in many areas of human endeavors. Sierra Leone’s first ever film and acting school, IDF Film School, will be established by the Director of Institut de Francais, Ahmed K. Mansaray who also doubles as a movie executive producer and director.

Provide a 5 pages analysis while answering the following question: The Negative Effect of Listening to Music While Learning.

Provide a 5 pages analysis while answering the following question: The Negative Effect of Listening to Music While Learning. Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide. An abstract is required. This essay approves that according to the aforementioned hypothetical testing, descriptive analysis, and statistical analysis, the presumptuous response would indicate that music had an impact on learners and that learner’s focus and concentration was negatively affected as a result of having music on the learning background. However, these results are based on recognition of various assumptions. First, the study has an assumption that genre of music on the background of the learners of the study does not vary and that learners are exposed to the music on the same amount of time. The research also presumes that learners are restricted from external distractors such as hooting of vehicles and so forth. Lastly, the research also presumes that gender and age of the participants do not impair with the results obtained.

This report makes a conclusion that if the aforementioned hypothesis would be accepted and supported, the field of psychology would deduce the implications of music on learning. Researchers can hence advance the study by performing similar tests in different settings to prove or rectify few aspects. Learners can use the research to selectively choose the type of genres to select as their background study music in case they have to listen to music when studying. The proposal concludes that music has adverse effects on learners and hence students should evade such conduct if their core objective is to maximize their time, improve their grades and ultimately excel in their exams.

Slide 1 : Introduction

Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, commonly known as Bavarian Motor Works, BMW or BMW AG, is a German automobile, motorcycle and engine manufacturing company founded in 1916 (www.bmwartcarcollection.com). BMW most commonly known for their luxurious cars was not always what we know of it today. Did you know that BMW first started out as an airplane company struggling to make ends meet? In order to prove that their engineering was the best the world had to offer they decided to produce luxurious automobiles. Since its incorporation over the last ten decades, BMW has transitioned from a struggling airplane engine manufacturing to be the most highly admired luxury vehicles throughout the world. According to Madden, Roth, & Dillon, (2012), despite being subjected to the darkest times in the European history, the company still re-emerged as a stable and strong representative of high-quality German engineering and design. Therefore, the following paper provides an assessment of the ethical issues in the history of BMW, explains its code of ethics, and commitment to social responsibility as follows.

Firstly, BMW has often stood for passion, pleasure, and sustainable mobility solutions that are forward looking across the world. As affirmed by Gazzola, (2014), enthusiasm has driven the company to make unique visions, and ideas a reality for both its employees and customers. As a result, by recognizing exciting opportunities, BMW offers exciting careers. For example, it has always provided a motivating and an inspiring working environment. In addition, apart from offering competitive compensation packages, it appreciates every worker with several benefits such as paid leave. Regardless of whether one is a professional or school dropout, graduate or student, Gazzola explains that BMW has always created chances for individuals with strong passion to help reinvent the future’s mobility.

Fair work environment and conditions and respect for human rights form an integral part of BMW’s culture. As such, the company has always represented the interests of its workers and BMW Works Council takes human rights as their primary mission. BMW offers exciting careers. For example, it has always provided a motivating and an inspiring working environment. In addition, apart from offering competitive compensation packages, it appreciates every worker with several benefits such as paid leave. Fair work environment and conditions and respect for human rights form an integral part of BMW’s culture. As such, the company has always represented the interests of its workers and BMW Works Council takes human rights as their primary mission. As we are already aware, BMW is known worldwide to be a stronghold, successful company that has always delivered absolute satisfaction to their clients and employees thanks to their strong work ethics. It couldn’t have been accomplished if it wasn’t for the dedicated workers, loyal clients, and the highly organized structure that the company performs under. For decades, BMW has grown and adapted to become a world class organization that many have praised for their wonderful dedication. The organization deeply values the passions of their individual employees and takes teamwork to the next level. BMW operates under a strong, rich culture which ensures the opportunity for talented individuals to succeed and how the industry enhances its cultural foundations. And for many decades, the company has been credited for being a successful firm that has been built within a strong structure and gifted employees, thus ensuring customer satisfaction is met and promises growth for more in the future.

Slide 2: National Differences in Political and Economic Development at BMW,

Political instability affects BMW in a few ways. First being that BMW has investments with countries with political instability which could end badly for BMW by putting the company at risk. BMW has also allocated their funds to influence political factors in favor of the company. One instance was when BMW slowed down European motives to increase fuel efficiency in cars by putting a stricter limit on carbon emissions. BMW’s legal system abides by a host of copyright laws related to its vehicles, as well as the technology incorporated, including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. BMW has a huge influence on culture in the region. The corporation has about 100 projects worldwide. They have made a cultural commitment standing as part of corporate communications for over 40 years.

One of the cultural activities that BMW offers to the country is the Rolls-Royce Art Program. This program is a celebration of new contemporary art. They invite leading artists as well as new to create works of art that push the limits of what is possible. Another activity that BMW provides for the community is the Opera for all. Opera for all is a collaboration BMW does with the Bavarian State Opera. This Opera has been held every year since 1997 and is open to everyone and allows people to win numerous awards.

Product Safety is of utmost importance to BMW. BMW wants their products to not only be environmentally friendly but conserve as fewest resources as possible to complete aa project. The use of computer technologies helps to reduce development time with computer technologies helps to reduce development time with computers that help in designing, testing, and simulations offering accurate results as well as virtual examinations. With these computer-based technologies it dramatically cuts production and development times and costs. All while this process enables BMW to respond faster to customer needs and preferences in the future.

In 2017 BMW was the country’s No.1 exporter of luxury automobiles. BMW produced roughly about 272,346 models of cars. There are no disadvantages that affect the U.S. dealing with the BMW but there are many advantages that Europe provides to the United States. One advantage that BMW provides is of course luxury cars. The second advantage is the BMW plant located in South Carolina. This plant is adding jobs for many locals as well as residents from surrounding counties. It should be no surprise that this multinational company has had great success with each passing decade. The work culture of the company is ensuring that the employees are able to offer quality services to the customers. It is as a result of the work culture whereby the market share has been increased hence making it easy for the business to operate in the best way possible. The work culture of the company is again brought about by the ability of the management of the company to analyze the performance of the business in an effective manner. For the work culture to be enhanced, the company has in different cases subjected the employees to a training which enables them to remain controlled by the improved technology in the country. The political economy of the country has played significant roles in ensuring that the sales made in the company are improved. This is due to the fact that favorable environments are provided for the company to carry out the production of quality products which help in ensuring that the needs of the customers are addressed in the best way possible. On the other hand, the global branding and the supply chain management of the company are carried out in a way which ensures that the customers from different parts of the world are provided with quality vehicles. The global branding has been unique for the purposes of ensuring that the customers in the market are able to benefit from the vehicles manufactured in the company.

Slide 3: Differences in Culture and Ethics in International Business

Recognizing and adhering to environmental measures, BMW Company has had a long tradition of reducing its adverse impact on the environment. For since, in 1973, the company emerged as the first automobile company to appoint its environmental officer throughout the world. Therefore, it takes environmental factors into account in different locations with the goal of minimizing pollution by avoiding wastes and lowering emissions. Lastly, the company has been linked with several corruption cases almost every year. For instance, it involved some board members who have been accused of being bribed with offers such as free Viagra. According to Folkens, & Schneider, (2019), one of the recent estimations by an economist indicated that about $50 billion bribe exchanged hands in almost every year within the company. BMW’s board of directors established the code of ethics that was intended to provide guidance to every stakeholder as they performed their duties and obligations.

Germany’s governmental trade policy is currently in a financial crisis. German car makers gathered in Washington D.C. in 2008 to discuss and stop potential tariffs that were put on the import of luxurious automobiles. German car manufacturers are the United States largest exporter for vehicles but what many people may not know is that BMW makes many of their vehicles in US plants. One of those very plants is in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The trade policies that President Donald trump has tried to implement also target Chinese imports which could potentially cause a trade war that could threaten their economy and the world as we know it today. Mercantilism is basically a system that a country does more exports than they do imports for their country. In this case Germany is the same way because they do more exports than they do imports because they are the largest importers of luxury automobiles for the United States. Free Trade is preferred over mercantilism by businesses because people benefit from affordable goods versus how in mercantilism brings many restrictions on the imports and limited choices for consumers in turn means higher prices and less competition. The product life cycle is defined as a cycle in which a product is developed and all the stages in between. The product life cycle is broken down into four stages they are: introduction, growth, maturity, and decline. The first phase in the product life cycle is the introduction phase. This phase normally starts with an idea of a vehicle BMW wants to create and wants to market and advertise to make people aware of their product as well as the product’s features. Second is BMW’s growth phase. In this phase demand grows for the product. Which then increases the production of that specific vehicle and then lastly making it available to consumers across the United States.

The third phase in the product life cycle is maturity. When BMW’s vehicle matures its in its most profitable stage. In the maturity stage production costs as well as marketing decline this is also when other foreign carmakers will try and compete with BMW’s new vehicle by offering some of the very same features to compare with BMW. This is also the stage where BMW’s market share may be lost, and the product takes a decline. The new trade theory determines international patterns of trade and are critical when it comes to economies of scale and how the network effects occurs in key industries.

In the new trade theory is described as when two countries that have no discernible differences in opportunity cost at any specific point in time. But, if one country specializes in a certain industry then it may gain economies of scale and other network benefits from its specialization (www.investopedia.com). This goes for the same with Germany and the United States because Germany specializes in making foreign vehicles whereas the United States is in the gain economies of the scale. Porter’s diamond of national advantage is defined as a model that is designed to help understand the competitive advantage that a nation or a specific group possesses due to certain factors. The porter’s diamond of national advantage explains how the government can improve position of a country and its competitive economic environment. BMW shows how they drive the competitive market over other foreign carmakers by constantly producing new vehicles and innovating new technology making them the forefront of German engineering.

slide 4: International entry strategies, Outsourcing, and Logistics used at BMW

The transitional strategy is the act of constantly maintaining a low cost through location economics, economies of scale and learning effects. This strategy also believes in making products different from other geographic markets that account for local differences. In doing this the product can respond to local demands in different markets geographically in order to raise costs. While location economies and experience effects and leveraging products internationally they also transfer core competencies and skills within the company.

In doing this the company must pay very close attention to the pressure of the locals in the economy. Also stated in our text was modern multinational enterprise, core competencies, as well skills that do not only reside just in the home country but can develop in any of the firm’s worldwide operations. In this strategy it is important that they maintain that the flow of skills and product offerings not only their home country but a foreign subsidiary as well.

BMW uses the localization strategy by trying to boost more sales in China. The localization strategy BMW has adopted greatly will greatly benefit in China because of the local production as well as innovative talent in the country. In doing this BMW plans to introduce two new models exclusively in China before anyone else in the World sees it. The strategy has evolved over time because BMW has used this very same strategy with other countries, and it has worked in their favor every time. In 2021 BMW’s vision iNEXT will debut. The vehicle will combine the latest technology and intelligent design as well as customizable (www.bmwgroup.com).

An example of BMW entering a new national market would be when the rise of demand of luxury cars were needed in Asian markets. What many may not know is that about 70% of BMW’s production is exported. Many of the exports go to European Union countries, Japan, as well as the United States. BMW has also been known to target people in similar target groups. These people are typically similar in a lot of ways. People in these target groups typically have higher education, higher positions, and ultimately different lifestyles than the everyday working American. Aside from efficient and effective marketing skills and strategies are production and supply chain systems, which propel BMW AG automobile to profitability and greater heights of success. Most of its high-quality manufacturing activities takes place in Germany, Munich where the headquarter lies. As mentioned above, it also has foreign subsidiaries, which equally ensure high standards of quality products in line with the parent company. In other words, it remains sensitive and indispensable with matters concerning costs, quality, flexibility, and promptness while manufacturing.

In the automobile industry, manufacturing plants usually apply high technology in the production processes. The manufacturing processes normally takes place in bits where various parts are made through high technology.

Similarly, adoption of modern technology, developments, and advancements in the industry also enables it to compete favorably in the marketplace. In other words, it never lags behind concerning latest technology. With modern technological methods of manufacturing in place, it engages top talented and creative personnel to ensure that the final product appeals to the target market. In short, creativity, innovation, and skilled workmanship, undoubtedly lead to products that clients would like to have, which competitors’ envy in the entire industry.

With enhanced production of high-quality automobiles, the organization has to look for foreign markets. After an extensive market research exercise, it began engaging in vehicle exports both directly as well as indirectly to more lucrative foreign markets. It is true that export business strategies enable the company access different market segments spread widely across the world.

On top of exporting is licensing as a reliable business strategy employed by BMW. It strategically grants production and sales rights to foreign firms on payment of an agreed fee. Moreover, this enabled its reduce perceived business risks to minimal. On the other hand, this strategy has a downside in that the parent organization gets little profit compared to exporting. Aside from licensing, is joint venture as a strategic business entry mode, which this organization applies.

Despite enhancing clientele base, it is a costly venture for this organization. Generally, the success of BMW automobile takes credit from business management skills alongside engagement in strategic and tactical business decisions whenever at the right time with the right people.

Is there anything that Charles can do to avoid breaching the contract?  Does Charles have any defenses to breach of this contract?

COLLAPSE

Charles was a farmer who farmed 600 acres of land. Charles entered into a hand-shake contract with 4H Grain Company. The agreement called for Charles to sell 20,000 bushels of corn to 4H in October, when Charles’ corn crop would be harvested. The agreed price was to be $1.00 per bushel or $20,000.  That amount was to be paid to Charles when he delivered the corn to 4H.

Unfortunately, there was a rain storm during the summer that damaged Charles’ corn crop, and part of the corn crop failed. Because of that failure, Charles was only able to offer 9,000 bushels of corn to 4H in October. 4H refused the offer of part of the amount that was to be delivered by Charles and sued Charles for breach of contract to deliver corn. There is nothing in the contract that addresses this situation.

Assume that the facts given are admitted and not in dispute.

Is there anything that Charles can do to avoid breaching the contract?  Does Charles have any defenses to breach of this contract?  Who should win?  Why?

Write a 5 pages paper on the discovery of the atomic bomb.

Write a 5 pages paper on the discovery of the atomic bomb. This discovery marked the beginning of a scientific race on three continents. Soviet spies found their way into the community of scientists in the US and Great Britain (Sheinkin 32). In Norway, an army crossed enemy lines to attack the heavy-watered manufacturing. In the desert areas of the New Mexico, a group of intelligent scientists was hiding at Los Alamos, a remote site, while working on creating the bomb. Hahn’s discovery brought about plotting, risk-taking, deceit, and genius that led to the creation of the weapon, the atomic bomb, that was the most forbidden in the world.

The discovery resulted in the eruption of World War 2. This is because the Germans started sharing their discovery with their colleagues around the world. The discovery was the route to creating the most powerful bomb in the world. The author of the book integrates three different storylines that tell about the creation of the atomic bomb. The first story involves the US trying to develop the bomb. The second story is about the Soviets trying to steal the bomb from Americans through informants and spies. The third story involves the attempts by the Allies to sabotage the bomb program of the Germans.

The main subjects of Steve Sheinkin’s book include the competition to come up with the atomic bomb, spies, secret parachute missions, communists and scientific breakthroughs. The story of the book might sound like fiction. It is, however, true.

After proving that it was possible for uranium atoms to split into two when hit by neutrons from radioactive elements, the discovery quickly spread in the world of physicians. This raised a competition to see who could use the idea to create an atomic bomb. The US tapped physician Robbert Oppenheimer to lead the Manhattan Project (Sheinkin 84). The laboratory that was to be used in creating the bomb and testing radioactive elements was located at Los Alamos.

Write 19 pages thesis on the topic minimalism from shaker furniture to oki sato. Minimalism, today, has inspired millions of architects and designers around the world. While many have been exposed to minimalism in one form or another, very few understand and appreciate the underlying thought behind minimalism. Minimalism began as a very disjointed movement. It can be traced back to the time of the Shakers. The Shakers were basically a strong religious communal group of people who believed in simple living. Their belief of simple living extended to their architecture and furniture design which carried traced of minimalistic design. However, Minimalist design did not begin as a proper movement until the twentieth century. Minimalism in design gained momentum as a reaction towards Abstract Expressionism. It follows the principles of achieving more in less. Negative spaces in minimalist design are not feared. rather they appreciated by exposing them to bright white light. Oki Sato is one designer who appreciates the beauty of minimalism. For him, minimalism is beautiful with its simple design. This paper will discuss the simplicity inherent in minimalistic design by exploring the characteristics of both ancient and modern minimalistic design. The Shakers represent the old minimalistic style while Oki Sato through his design studio, Nendo represent the modern take on minimalism. Because simplicity in design is straightforward, this paper displays the progression of minimalism from Shaker furniture to the more modern Oki Sato designs. The paper will first focus on defining the scope.

Need help with my writing homework on Limits of Human Knowledge and Experience. Write a 1000 word paper answering; This essay highlights that&nbsp.mathematician Leibnitz has contributed to our understanding of human limitations in acquiring knowledge.&nbsp. He famously coined the term “human finitude”, behind which were questions such as “How much can someone possibly know? What could reasonably be viewed as an upper limit of an individual’s knowledge–supposing that factually informative knowledge rather than performative how-to knowledge or subliminally tacit knowledge is to be at issue?” To essay an answer to these questions, let us consider a hypothetical attempt by a human to acquire maximum knowledge.&nbsp. For this thought experiment, we are assuming that this hypothetical person has perfect recall and an infinite memory.&nbsp.&nbsp.

According to the report findings&nbsp.in the Western intellectual tradition that has evolved over the last two millennia, knowledge was the “essential resource for those mortal and particular human beings struggling to cope with a world that could be imagined as being independent from any observer.” Scientific endeavor was thus directed to make knowledge independent of the observer (subjective) into an enduring truth.&nbsp.For a human being to ‘know’ something is one way of gaining access to that aspect of the world.&nbsp. The tradition of ‘reasonable knowledge’ is one that brings into concurrence an individual’s observation through sight, sound and logical analysis with the truth associated with the object being studied.

Compose a 2500 words assignment on economic crisis. Needs to be plagiarism free!

Even though the particular blend of processes every so often differs between the instructional models, the majority of the models include instructional problems, along with the designs, developments and assessment of the instructional measures and the materials required to address these issues.&nbsp.Three main domains of learning exist which are supposed to be acknowledged by all the teachers who should utilize them in the construction of lessons.

prepare and submit a term paper on Economic developments in Germany and their impact on the EU economy.

The Negative Effect of Listening to Music While Learning.

We are able to compare and contrast the behavior of the two characters. Bloom, who is an outsider, has the power to envision an all inclusive nation.&nbsp.From Bloom’s understanding of female undergarments and from his masturbating habits coupled with his erotic messages it can be concluded that he is more at ease with the physical. Basing on this fact, there is no similarity with Stephen.&nbsp. Stephen is portrayed as an unhappy and dramatic individual contrary to Bloom who is grown-up and has the ability to cheer himself up. Bloom can decide not to think about demoralizing issues. Bloom displays love for others. This is evident when he helps out Stephen. Stephen’s friends attempted to give him too much alcohol. He also asks the police not to take Stephen into custody. Bloom takes Stephen to a coffee shop and later on takes him home to rest.Bloom acts as a father figure to Stephen and Stephen does not push him away.&nbsp.By first letting the reader know about the character of Stephen, the author James Joyce, helps us appreciate and understand the protagonist’s character better. He also helps in the building of the plot of the story thus making this book an interesting read although it is quite challenging. It is in their union and appreciation of each other that we get to see Stephen as a person who can accept help from another person. This is probably the point where he discovers himself.&nbsp.

Create a 2 pages page paper that discusses comments: queer critiques of gay marriage.

Create a 2 pages page paper that discusses comments: queer critiques of gay marriage. Blog Post Comments Article: Queer Critiques of Gay&nbsp.Marriage In this article, the discusses about politics ofequality in marriage. He says that this has become a very controversial issue because the society has been constructing certain structures that tend to classify people based on their marital preferences. Over the years, gay marriage has been eliciting a hot debate amongst the LGBT community. However, in the opinion of the author, constant advocacy for equality in marriages has been perceived as a misconceived idea as it diverts attention from real issues that need to be addressed.

I would like to agree with the author for exclaiming that marriage equality should be upheld in the society. Given that everyone is entitled to a freedom of choice, they should be allowed to choose whether to engage in same-sex marriage so long as it satisfies them. Just like the rest of the people, such marriages should be legalized so as to be legitimately accepted. Once the gays are allowed to be legally married, the society will be in the right path of attaining equality because no one would be perceived as a pariah any more. In fact, they will gain acceptance into the society.

I also concur with this author for insinuating that the legalization of same-se mirage would not bring lots of privileges to its beneficiaries. A lot of energy should not be spent discussing about it. It is true that the society is naturally diversified and unequal. Meaning, there must be more powerful, less powerful, more privileged and less privileges people within the society. After all, the society has lots of problems that need to be dealt with. If more energy is spent on marriage issues, the attention of the society would be diverted from real issues.

Bibliography: LGBT and Religion Annotated&nbsp.Bibliography

In this annotated bibliography, insights are provided on the relationship between the religious institutions and the LGBTQ community. In his studies, the researcher was motivated to unearth this relationship by the kind of experiences he had when growing up in this diversified society in which people place a lot of significance on gender, sexual orientation and marriage. He says that the societal view on same-sex marriage has been greatly influenced by the religious beliefs propagated by different churches.

In my response to him, I would like to say that he is quite right for saying that religious institutions have important contributions to make towards the general perception on same-sex marriage. Even if many people have been distancing themselves from the gays because of their weirdness, the church should try to create a conducive environment to accommodate them. After all, a time has come when people should not be judged by their sexuality. So, as the author says, it is true that the widening gap between the church and LGBTQ community can be narrowed if the church accepts the gays as part of it.

Actually, the article addresses real issues affecting the LGTQ community. As a trusted institution, religion should be at the fore front in the fight against the politics of inequality in the society. The examples of the Methodist Church should be emulated by all the other religious organizations. Gays are not evil people who need to be rejected. Instead, they should be accepted, recognized and made to comfortably exist as part of the community. This will encourage tolerance and pride on diversities in the community.

Design a 5 slide digital presentation appropriate for a schoolwide professional development opportunity on the topic of special education reevaluations for K‐8.

The reevaluation process in special education is addressed at least every three years to determine whether the student continues to need special education and related services due to their diagnosed disability. Teachers working with students with disabilities should be aware of the rationale and purpose for the reevaluation. There are also legal provisions that must be followed to document the scope and sequence of the evaluation process. All teachers need to be aware of their role and responsibility to participate fully and be a collaborative team member with both staff and family.

Review the different reevaluation requirements under IDEA. Discuss the different types of reevaluations and associated process steps.

which is the official mission of the U.S. Department of Education?

In 2015, President Obama signed the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) into law. The law was marked for decreasing federal authority over states and school districts in providing education, but it still assigns key responsibilities to these entities. Do you think these responsibilities help, “promote student achievement and preparation for global competitiveness by fostering educational excellence and ensuring equal access,” which is the official mission of the U.S. Department of Education? Why or why not? What aspects of the constitution do you see that apply to ESSA of 2015? Cite specific examples in your response.

Begin by reviewing the text concerning ethical culture and communication.

Begin by reviewing the text concerning ethical culture and communication. Next, imagine that you are the leader of an organization in the field of which you are intending to make your career and the ethical culture of this organization is unhealthy. You are concerned and want to steer the culture in the right direction. Pretend that you and several committees have already investigated the nature of the unhealthy ethical culture. Through a memo of at least 600 words, citing at least one IWG reference (your text is fine), address the members of your organization. The audience can be all members of the organization or a certain section.

Be sure that each of the following elements are included in your 600 words:
1. A description of the organization.
2. A detailed description as to what is unhealthy about the current ethical culture of the organization.
3. A clear description of the goal or goals to be attained.
4. An example of another organizational culture that has a healthy ethical culture. Use one of the many examples in the text or find your own citing an outside resource in IWG formatting.
5. A discussion of how ethical culture will continue to be evaluated, so that future problems can be quickly identified and culture continuously improved.

Discuss the advantages and difficulties in using terminal performance objectives that address the affective domain, rather than the cognitive domain.

This assignment lets you begin practical consideration of concepts of education and training.

  1. From your experience, select and narrow a course topic and target audience. Think about a 1-hour course session, or plan for students to study and work for about 1 hour, if self-directed. Create a brief statement of key information, based on your knowledge of the topic, the audience, any problem or opportunity that might be addressed in the course, and the learning environment.
  2. Create at least 2 correctly written terminal performance objectives, using the ABCD Model approach, that your learners will be expected to meet during the course. Note: Review the Quick Reference Guide to Developing Cognitive Learning Objectives
  3. Discuss at least 3 ways in which your instructional design project may be different, if you use the competency-based learning model, rather than the more traditional ADDIE model.
  4. Discuss the advantages and difficulties in using terminal performance objectives that address the affective domain, rather than the cognitive domain.
  5. Explain how you would use Gagne’s 9 events of instruction with an adult audience, in a face-to-face setting, and compare and contrast your methodology with the use of the model with a group of online high school students.
  6. What data do you want to study to tell you the effectiveness of an eighth-grade class? Why? What data do you want to study to tell you the effectiveness of a training program for first-line supervisors? Why?

Your response should use an appropriate organization approach and format. 5-7pages

For this assignment only, APA documentation format is not required.  Use the proper APA format for any associated references.

Throughout the course, the student should use APA format for both document form and references, unless otherwise instructed.

Identify the type of qualitative research approach used and explain how the researchers implemented the design

For this Discussion, you will evaluate qualitative research questions in assigned journal articles in your discipline and consider the alignment of theory, problem, purpose, research questions, and design. You will also identify the type of qualitative research design or approach the authors used and explain how it was implemented. Narrative, ethnographic, grounded theory, case study, and phenomenology are examples of types of research designs or approaches used in qualitative research.

With these thoughts in mind, refer to the Journal Articles document for your assigned articles for this Discussion.

A critique of the research study in which you:

· Evaluate the research questions (The Research Questions and Hypotheses Checklist can be used as a guide to facilitate your evaluation; it is not meant to be used in a Yes/No response format in writing your Discussion post.)

· Identify the type of qualitative research approach used and explain how the researchers implemented the design

· Analyze alignment among the theoretical or conceptual framework, problem, purpose, research questions, and design

Running head: PROGRAM AND MISSION ALIGNMENT 1

PROGRAM AND MISSION ALIGNMENT 4

Program and Mission Alignment

Student Name

Institutional Affiliation

Winthrop University aims at offering personalized challenging, graduate, and continuing professional education programs of national caliber. Doing a degree in communication sciences and disorder does not align to the university’s mission since the program is not offered at the university anymore. The program started its closure while I was still in school, which was an indication of its coming to extinction. The program in communication sciences and disorders is also not part of the long-term mission of the university of achieving national stature as a competitive and distinctive, co-educational, public, residential comprehensive, and value-oriented institution. The program has been closed, which is an implication of the failure to meet the required standards to provide competitive skills to its students. Communication sciences and disorders program does not meet the students’ needs of meeting the challenges of the contemporary world by offering them the ability to synthesize knowledge to solve complex challenges.

Winthrop University prides itself in offering value-based education, which has shaped the success of the university. Closing the program shows that it does not contribute to the overall mission of the university, which contradicts the provisions of the university, which means that the program does not contribute to the values of the university. Any program that does not contribute towards the achievement of the university’s mission should be scrapped off so that only those programs that have a bearing on the university mission are considered.

However, the university needs to evaluate the contribution of the course towards the overall mission of the university. A speech pathologist is concerned with treating speech disorders among people suffering from such problems. The university, on the other hand, is concerned with training people who can treat speech disorders in society. The university, therefore, is a bridge between the prevailing challenge in society and the possible solutions. As such, speech pathologist is an important program that the university should reestablish.

Write 2-3 paragraphs to explain how you helped this student, what steps you took, and justify your choices.

The Problem with School Lunch

Topic: School lunches. I think the price of school lunch is too high and that’s why students are overweight.

The resources for this assignment are located in the Books and Resources for this Week.

Problem Statement:

Have you seen the size of today’s students? The health of our nation is at risk due to everyone’s increasing waist size. I propose that the reason students are gaining weight at an alarming rate is directly connected to the price of school lunch. Parents of students can’t afford school lunches, so students are forced to bring change for the vending machines found in most school cafeterias. Have you seen the junk in those machines? Soda is really bad for you. According to Wikipedia, it is one of the worst things you can put in your body. If schools provided more affordable lunches for students, students would buy them and get thin. The price of lunch is key to getting students healthy. Maybe if they put diet soda in the machines that would help too. Students are so fat they don’t fit in the desks. Schools are having to buy bigger furniture which costs money too. I bet Taco Bell could make lunches cheaper and students could eat that. Taste is important and if the lunch doesn’t taste good, no one would eat it. You can buy stuff there for like $1. Everyone could eat for $5 a week. Then students could be thin and do better in school.

Length: 3-5 pages
