Saint Leo University Personal Leadership Development Plan Summary

The elements of PLDP must include the following (6-7 pages):

  • Summarize your strengths and weaknesses as a managerial leader as described in the CVF.
  • Include a chart showing the competencies from strongest to weakest. Note which competencies are grouped close to each other as your strongest areas. Also note which competencies are grouped close to each other as your weakest areas.
  • Describe any common themes in your strongest areas.
  • Describe any common themes in your weakest areas.
  • From the group of weakest areas, identify the two that are the least weak. (You will see more progress and growth if you start working on an area that is not the weakest.)
  • Provide examples that demonstrate your weakness in these two areas.
  • Discuss what you would look like as a manager/leader if these two weak areas became stronger. That is, discuss how your leadership approach would change if you became stronger in these two areas.
  • Provide specific actions that you can take to become stronger in each of these areas. Divide these actions into ones that you can accomplish in 30 days, ones that you can accomplish in 90 days, and ones that you can accomplish in 180 days. Be specific and realistic. (For example, don’t say, “Get a mentor.” Instead, provide details on what this means and how you will do this.)
  • Discuss how you will evaluate your progress at the end of 30, 90, and 180 days to determine if you have become stronger in these two areas.

Include citations from the readings below as well as from additional sources that support your goals and plan. Include a cover page and reference page, and use Turabian format. You may choose to list your goals and actions for 30, 90, and 180 days instead of writing these in paragraph form – this is fine. Just be sure to provide details and specifics about each item.

Original work only please, write the paper as if it were you you’re evaluating.
