The literature review through synthesizing of similar research establishes the foundation for the dissertation research (Baker, 2000). The methodical process of the cyclical nature of the literature review is evolved through resources, studies alike in the use of theoretical foundations and variables/phenomena, the historical context of the studies (Ahmed, Wallace, & Blessing, 2003). The iterative nature of the literature review is the portion of the literature review process involving continuous and evolving analysis in which requires the researcher to revise, rework, and revamp as research evolves (walker, 2016).
This concept affects my work on the literature review and incorporation into my dissertation prospectus and proposal to provide a broad balanced overview of the existing literature relevant to Virtuous Leadership by describing most recent literature relating to Virtuous Leadership; thus establishing or justifying the phenomenon being studied (the perception of virtuous leadership practices influence in the learning environment), identifying the design, a qualitative case study of 40/12 high school classroom teachers in a school district in Florence County to examine if virtuous leadership practices-prudence, self-control, courage, and justice influence the learning environment.
