1) Have we gone too far with due process?  How do you balance protecting the innocent with the potential of guilty people going free?  Have we made the police department’s job too hard?  After all, appointed attorneys, Miranda rights, wiretaps and the exclusionary rule are not mentioned in the Constitution.

2) Are indigent defendants entitled to attorneys that are as good as the ones rich people can afford?

3) If a prosecutor offers a plea deal of 5 years to an indigent defendant with an appointed attorney, who is facing 25 years, and he takes the deal because he has no confidence in the attorney, even though he maintains he is innocent, does that violate due process?

6) Is the use of drugs such as marijuana, alcohol and tobacco moral or immoral?  Should they be illegal?

7) What are the moral arguments for and against the death penalty? 

8) Does the fact that the US alone among “civilized”, first world nations has the death penalty indicate it is immoral?
